I feel like whenever some East Asian authors/artists attempt to discuss controversial issues like racism in their works, they tend to get their ideas based off movies or Youtube. Because there is something so… unrealistic about the way racial ignorance is portrayed, especially when the character in question is black. I am not saying black people can’t be bigoted, but it’s like authors find a space to display their opinions on the black community and take it too far. Besides… wtf is a ‘yellow mickey’??

I surprisingly found the uke from the first story quite relatable... the depression, lack of motivation and questioning of existence were all things that readers could empathize with. But despite all that, I couldn’t bring myself to like him all that much. And the seme... yeah, he was scummy for sure. The only reason he could be excused for his behavior is because he’s a dolphin who isn’t used to human romantic relationships, but he’s still pretty trashy. My fave so far is the second couple, I found the growth in their relationship refreshing
