
I saw comments that said they don't buy the secretary's excuses. I get it, but remember..he was just a secretary ie an employee who could've been easily fired in a heartbeat by the MC's adoptive family if he ever crossed their actions.
The biggest gift Mr Kim gave the MC was his presence and genuinity which the MC needed the most at the time as he was utterly and pitifully alone back then. That marks all the checks for forgiveness in my book.

Technically, Jae has not 'sufferred' anything yet.
He's just slowly coming to the realisation that he might have been shitty to Dan. His ego is still just circling around that fact.
The real pain that Jae needs to feel is 'regret' and we are nowhere near that as of now. I hope the author does justice to this and not make it BJ Alex alternate universe. ('Cause thats how its going).
Because even after all these years i still believe Jiwon was forgiven too fast. Yeah, I'm still petty about it :/
