Wow I didn't expect this to be so philosophical. This really made me think about what Ryou said and what he was saying made sense. Our society is made up of rules that are taboo according to our cultures and religions but biologically speaking, there is nothing wrong with their relationship. The whole purpose of incest being wrong is because there is a risk of negative impacts on the next generation. But because they are both males, there is no reason, biologically speaking, for this to be wrong. Now when we look at the moral aspect, again, we as a society set the rules of right and wrong. It's only taboo according to societal standards but there is nothing else that holds us back from these types of behaviors. Therefore we have the free will to deviate from those norms, but we usually just choose not to because from a young age certain values and ideas are instilled in us that guide our actions. Also these two individuals were virtually strangers as they never had a father-son relationship. He was only a father in name to Ryou and nothing else. So at the end of the day, two consenting adults who share a blood connection are in a healthy, equal (power dynamic wise) relationship. I enjoyed it as it made me think and question myself, although it was still weird lol.
I was tricked. I thought this was only 12 chapters and thought it would be a quick read. I don't regret reading it but still...I kept wondering when this would end for the longest time and by the time I checked, I was already on ch 30 or 40.
