I read up to chapter 80 and a lot happen. We even got some small development too and I like how it was written. All I can say that out of the two main possible ML's Seungyeon is currently the best choice for Baram. He may cause few mistakes recently but he own up to them and when it came to feelings he didn't impose his feeling onto her forcing her to come out just because he liked her. Despite one time (chapter 73) he has always made her comfortable. So I'm really enjoying this series. The story didn't really focus on romance but more on moving on but now I think we're entering the romance part and I'm excited.
Dear Joseph stans, we have lost. I have read half of the novel but didn't reach the last volume but on twt someone brought up the last volume. There are scenes with Erez, in the novel they're not romantic at all but I definitely can see it being made as romantic in the manhwa. And Joseph does not show up in the last volume, this is a big hint telling us our sweet Joseph is not the ML
But what makes me angry is the writing of his character. Seeing the process of the novel and its premise. Why the fuck was Joseph written to be in love with Keira IN BOTH LIFES in the manhwa then later to dwindle his appearance after using him up in S1.
Why make him ONLY as a potential love interest instead of actually giving him a importance to the story. Honestly speaking if they were just gonna do that then they should've just left him as a simple knight who never had feelings for his lady like in the novel. Because making him love her for two damn life's only to throw him out later? That's a waste of a character and sick of this troupe always being used, especially for knights.
Should've just introduced the ML right off the bat so we can have FL x ML moments instead of the tension of the fandom guessing who endgame is. I'm sick of the constant fights and others saying horrible things about both Joseph and Erez due to this silly romance rivalry.
Anyway, I needed to let this out but I'm open to hear what yall and even Erez stans think of this.
So Joseph stans let's not dwell on it further or start fights. Either stop reading where we are at now or continue it without minding the romance tension. I'm still continue it since I do like the story and curious about Cosette and their battle. Though I'm upset with Joseph writing process, there isn't much to do since it is already too late. I hate that I realize this when I'm already deep I to the manhwa.
Yea I notices around a month ago after rereading the last few chapters. But I didn't saying anything because I didn't know how to put my thoughts into words but I feel exactly how you feel. I really hate they used his character just for romance and only made him revolve around Keira instead of giving an importance that's not only Keira. That's why I have alot of anger towards the author. Joseph should've been a comrade only and nothing more. But the author build him in as if he was the ML in S1 which grab alot of readers but after completing tossed him to the side. If there are moment of Koseph and Keira they're always short-lived. Because you compare to the recent scenes with Erez and you notice that the Joseph scenes aren't as impactful as we first saw them. It so sad seeing it like that now
I feel like the author purposely did this for 2 reasons. One love triangle views and two because he's a knight. Many authors seem to use the same exact setup only for knights but barely for CP, Emperor's, Duke's and Mage's. In general of manhwa it seem like korean authors like to have loyal potentials by the FL side but with a rich ML as endgame
i'm going through so much second male lead syndrome rn omg. I don't hate erez, I think he's awesome and all, but omg I was hoping Joseph would end up with Keira in the first season so much and seeing him getting pushed farther and farther away from the MC for his "protection" and the MC being a block head and not understanding Joseph's feeling for her hurts sooo badddd. so sick of love triangles and for surprise MLs that appear much later in the series than the second, third, etc MLs. Like damn, isekai me into the world so I can pat Joseph on the back lmfaoooooo mans gonna need a hug and I want to give him one
I'm an Erez stan but i can see where you're coming from. I somewhat understand your frustration but i don't think that it should be that big of a deal since it's a regular situation where a knight gets feelings for its master, so I don't think of it as a bad thing. It's only sad since he's the 2nd ML. Honestly, I'm not into novels since i like to look into some illustrations while reading and that's why i prefer manhwas. But the thing i wanted to say is that sometimes the novels differ from the manhwas so there's still a possibility for a different ending. Also, I'm an Erez stan because i see sparks and connection between them more than with Joseph. There was a misunderstanding at the beginning and then later on they started out as friends and honestly i like that dynamic more.
Honestly both Keira and Erez do have a right feeling the way they do. I do agree Keira might reacted badly but I can't blame her she was indeed traumatized by Cossette and that finding out she's a demon first which unlock all the bad things then soon after he tells her he's one. Whole lot of emotions. But I hate the author for writing it like that for the sake of romance. We all know why the author wrote it like that. Kinda annoying she played it that way, but atleast Keira now realizes she overreacted and knowledge Erez is the one who's more hurt. And as others pointed out I'm also disappointed what the author did to Keira in the manhwa making her so kind of damsel depending on others way to much.
I can't with some of these comments. Most of yall are so stuck in S1. The way yall are so vocal in hating a bottom/uke who has finally question those who like him. Jooin baby, I'm so sorry people don't understand your character and only care are what the male lead candidates wants/feeling.
Exactly. He’s been hurt by both of them. I still am rooting for yahwi. Both of the ML are toxic af but at the very least, yahwi is apologetic and is trying his best to work on himself and communicate (which was the very issue they had in the beginning). Jooin can choose whoever he wants IF he wants any of them. He needs to do whatever is best for him. That being said, taking comfort from both of these ML knowing their feelings is just bad manners. He should say no to both of them and make them work hard to earn his trust BEFORE he deals with either of them. That’s the only issue I have with him but everything else he’s doing is justified. Cain is just obsessed and can’t explain anything nor is he trying to change his faults to become someone that jooin can rely on. Out of those two, yahwi is starting to identify what jooin wants and needs and is trying to fit that but cain is just being selfish. He says he will take any crumbs but he wants the whole cookie and milk too and makes it known that that is what he wants. He doesn’t even bother to see what it is that JOOIN wants or needs. For cain, it’s all about him. I honestly just want them all to go their separate ways and for yahwi to go to therapy while trying to make it up to jooin as friends only. If jooin chooses to make one of them his bf then… he can’t argue with whatever flaws they have because he literally knew about it and picked them anyways.
Well said!
agreed!!!
You make some good point but I also disagree with some as well. Sure Yahwi is finally communicating his emotions amd being apologetic but he too is not taking in consideration for Jooin. You say Cain makes it all about him but he doesn't, the one who does is Yahwi, Jooin already gave him a firm no and to leave him alone yet Yahwi keeps dropping his past onto Jooin to get sympathy when Jooin already told him to stop doing that. Jooin hasn't taken comfort in any of them since the series came back from hiatus, he wants them to leave him alone but both keep being persistent to him, what can he do when both these men can't take a step back to give him some fresh air.
Yahwi IS taking jooin into consideration. Before he would do as he pleases without caring if it hurts anyone around him. He’s realising that although he’s still not changed much, he can do little things here and there to not hurt jooin more. Jooin may say “leave me alone” but he’s still keeping them in his life. To them, he’s playing both sides. Cain isn’t considerate at all. If he really was okay with crumbs, he would have stayed a friend. He wouldn’t try to go beyond. He literally took advantage of the fact that jooin was vulnerable after yahwi and used THAT specific time to make his move. Even the fact that he won’t tell jooin anything even tho jooin is trying time and again to ask him what’s going on shows his lack of consideration. I’m not saying that yahwi is a considerate and loving man but he’s sure as hell doing more than cain to change and develop into someone worthy of jooin. Jooin holds the power. None of these men are the type to ditch their egos so he just needs to hit them where it hurts. He’s choosing not to do that. He could have avoided yahwi and cain. When cain showed up at his door, he could have slammed the door in his face. When yahwi was sitting on that step, jooin could have just walked past and pretended not to see him. He’s not doing any of that. His words mean nothing because his actions show the complete opposite. How can either man give up when he’s sending out mixed flags left and right? Also Cain is incredibly manipulative. He’s foxy. He pretends to be cute and loveable but as soon as jooin turns his back, he’s vicious and jealous and mean. At the very least, yahwi shows up an asshole and stays consistent. Jooin knew yahwi was an asshole from the word go. He knew and STILL chose a relationship with him. With cain, cain showed up Prince Charming and then jooin woke up and realised life isn’t a fairytale and he’s no princess. In the latest chapter, you see yahwi internally struggle between doing good by jooin and doing what he wants. He’s actually viewing jooin as he is. He’s seeing jooin as someone who he wants but no matter what he does is slowly slipping out of his grasp and he knows it’s his fault. That’s why he’s desperate to hold onto jooin. He wants to makeup for his mistakes and his flaws. He wants to prove himself to jooin. Cain isn’t even trying to prove himself. He just shows up, acts cute and thinks that’s enough to keep his position. Even my cat does more for me in my life than cain does for jooin. And jooin IS taking comfort from them. He even says as much. He’s relishing in the fact these two men love him enough to go after him when he runs away. When he feels bad or down, he knows he can go to either of them and they would give him comfort because they owe him that. He takes comfort in that knowledge. He was almost always alone. He’s not alone anymore. He took comfort from cain when they were living together. He’s taking comfort from knowing that yahwi didn’t have a good life and that he’s just as fucked up as jooin feels. Taking comfort doesn’t always mean affection. It can also be taking comfort in someone else’s discomfort. He relishes that yahwi is so desperate for him. He may not show it but that’s exactly why he keeps him around. As I said, he had every opportunity to cut him out of his life and didn’t. You may be team cain but im team no one in this story. Im just saying it as I see it. Out of all 3, the only one who’s acknowledging their fuckups and trying their best to develop themselves to be better is yahwi. Both cain and jooin make excuses for why they are staying stagnant. For jooin, it’s his hurt. For cain, it’s this mysterious past life that only he remembers. Yahwi isn’t even using his past as an excuse for his actions anymore. He did at the start but now he just apologises and accepts it. He does say he needs jooin to do things in a certain way to not trigger his ptsd from his past but he doesn’t force that on him. It’s a request. Even I make requests of people so they don’t trigger my ptsd because ptsd me is an entirely different person. She lives entirely in survival mode and anything she does is not in my control. Her sole focus is survival. For his ptsd, he has a different goal but the same result. He hurts people due to his past traumatising him. In order to stop hurting jooin, he swallowed his massive pride and ego to ask for this one thing. That’s massive. The old yahwi would never swallow his pride and ego. He’d double down with pride and ego. Cain has had absolutely no development about his character. And the only development that jooin had is entering survival mode and becoming less naive. But this came with the side effect of him hurting everyone around him. It’s almost as if trauma changes people and makes them into colder versions of themselves. Who knew? But the thing that happened to yahwi before he met jooin is exactly what’s happening to jooin. They hold onto their pain as a shield and attack first to not get hurt again. It never works tho. Yahwi realised this and decided jooin was worth letting his guard down. That’s why he’s the best of the worst. You couldn’t even give me specific examples of what you’re saying. You’re free to your opinion and you’re free to disagree but you can’t deny that yahwi has been working hard on himself while the other two just accepted this as the new norm.
