This yaoi is super great. It really hits a lot of my "straight to favs" buttons.
It's a slow-burn story and there's plenty of emotion (both good and bad). I love that this story follows them through childhood, teenage, and adulthood. It also takes on how society will view them and how friends and family can react to them being gay. This is a seriously awesome yaoi.
And one of the reasons I also like it is because it doesn't try to keep the reader happy at all times. I wasn't at least.
When they were apart Mii-kun had sex with Haru and the other guy, but Kei remained a virgin. Kei thought they were still together as a couple, but keeping some time apart. Mii-kun was insecure about their relatiobnship and had sex with others. He needed the intimacy. Now I undersand why things developed as they did, and it shows a lot about their individual characters. Still... it never sat quite right with me even though I get why it happened. I think Kei is amazing for being able to forgive and get over it (though it wasn't quite easy for him). And even though I didn't like it I wouldn't want the mangaka to change it. This is the kind of conflict (both in the story and in the reader's emotions) that make a great and unforgetable yaoi.
Also the way they both adapted and compromised in their sex life was so nice to see.
This is definitely as must read.

The art is amazing. The way the artist uses shadows and draws expressions is on another level.
The only thing that could have made this over the moon perfect for me would have been if they were a versatile couple (switch, reversible, whatever you want to call it). As it is this is still one of the best yaoi I've ever read.
The last bit with the S/M co-worker "couple" (didn't seem liek they were a couple yet) I would like to see them again. Expecially with a domiant uke! It would be great~
The seme is a cruel bastard.
The uke was obviously sexually harrased/assaulted by the seme and bullied. HOW can he be in love with the seme? I don't see any way. Are we missing something from their past?
But okay, the uke is in love with the seme. I still don't think they should have a relationship. It's destructive and unhealthy for both of them.
There really needs to be a MAJOR plot twist and regret on the seme's part to make me like this.

THis is the kind of situation where the only way I could forgive the sadistic seme and wish them well is if the seme suffers a lot and explains his defect a lot. I mean, explain it and let him suffer and grovel. Then, okay, that lets the uke see why the guys is an abusive jerk and there's hope. I don't understand the "I love him," part without some sort of kindness or something in the backstory. IF it's just, grope/push/demean, then why love? That says the uke needs a psychiatrist.

I see a lot of comments about how people don't like Takao or that Yoshinaga deserves better, but I disagree a bit.
Takao isn't sincere at all or faithful. But everybody knows it and he's quite happy that way. He likes/loves Yoshinaga in his own childish way (doesn't want to share, wants attention from him, relies on him). He does improve a bit as the story continues.
But let's look at Yoshinaga. He loves Takao. No doubt about it and he is very possessive. BUT! He knows Takao. He knows he loves breasts and he knows that Takao isn't the faithful sort. He knew what he was in for in pursuing him. SO he's trying to change Takao. And I think most know how it often goes when you try to change people. Not well. Yoshinaga knows it's an up-hill battle, which is why I think he doesn't leave Takao for cheting.
Also thier first time seems like it might've been rape, but with yaoi that is pretty common:

Anyways, I'm not trying to justify Takao, but Yoshinaga isn't the saint some of you make him out to be either (though he does have gorgeous hair). I think they both have some pretty major "faults".

I really I agree with what you said, and I believe that a huge pitfall with the yaoi fandom is that everyone wants this fairy tale relationship with fidelity all the time, and it's not always like that.

I wish people would give Takao more of a shot. I think you can see him outgrow cheating but he needed to get over his sexual identity which Yoshinaga intentionally stole from him.

The situation the seme is in is absolutely horrible, and I can see why he wants one last month of freedom.
BUT what he did to the uke is not justified by his situation. What he did was very close to rape and at least sexual assault. And as he said "he regrets nothing about last night", so maybe he doesn't even see anything wrong with it.
I'n still undecided on whether or not I like this yaoi.
