Did this kind of piss off anyone else? Lol. Kinda felt like Chungho at some point found the relationship convenient and just stuck with whatever Jun wanted. He didn't wanna break the status quo since it was comfortable to stick around with Jun rather than... Liking Jun. Even in the side stories he says how he wasn't sure if they would last that long and yeah... I kinda felt the same. The sex scenes also felt so uncomfortable. It started out strong but the moment they transitioned into a romantic relationship, everything felt artificial.

This is Love or Hate all over again, LMAO. In that manga too I rooted for the toxic dudes to end up with each other and just leave the second ML out of their drama. I hope this one ends like LoH too. Let TJ and Ian be together while Jo gets a new love interest in the future. Pretty please. Jo is going to be entwined with Ian's drama for the rest of his life if they end up together. He deserves better than that.

Go read fluff if you want that buddy. I fel liek there much more psychological processes going on here, which explain what's happening. I don't see Ian as the bad guy, neither Joe, nor TJ. But Ian and TJ should definitely take their dofferent paths. As of Joe and Ian, currently, it doesn't seem like the most healthy relationship either, but it definitely had great potential.

Well, I'm not saying that you shouldn't hope for whatever you want. And it's understandable of why Ian is seen as the one who ruins Joe's life, which is partially true, but it's never one-sided. Ian never intended to bring Joe into the "gangster" life. Moreover, the author heavily focuses on Ian's internal conflict of him trying to let go of his past, which has brought him guilt for the greater part of his life. With Joe, I could say he almost or even did forget about it, and already though he was ready to start his life anew as an ordinary person, which was what he has always hoped for.
Well, life had other plans with if, and I guess the saying "You can't run from your past" is applicable to this case, the one who spied them was a threat to this new life, mostly to Joe, who became Ian's main focus, whether that's put of pure love, affection or psychological consequences is not really what I will be discussing here, but lets say its a mixture of all of them.
So when anyone is faced with a threat, that's when instincts unlock, and what are Ian's instincts and where did they develop? - They are short-term woth long-term consequences formed during his time in the mafia, self-explainable of the needed attention was given to the chapters.
So that brings us to the end, when Ian tried to stop further problems by creating an even bigger one. But that's what he has always known. And in the end, in his efforts to preserve the life he could have had, he ended up being the one to bring it to its destruction. Thus, jusy keeping going in cycles over and over again in his fight against his past.

This is what Lover Boy should have been. You can really see how much Zec improved their writing in this spin-off. Avoided all the unnecessarily detours and loopholes to generate angst like they did in Lover Boy. Hanjun and Yunjin actually talk and communicate instead of wasting years chasing each other and wasting each other's time.
I also like how Yunjin backs off once he realizes Hanjun isn't serious and he needs to move on from him. Hanjun realizes that he fucked up and tries to make amends and actually put in the effort. Instead of expecting the other party to come back on their own after hurting them. Very cutesy, very demure, unlike a certain couple I know. Eunho and Jaeha could learn a thing or two from these two.
I am actually surprised that Jaeha didn't run back to Hanjun for emotional support in the 5 years him and Eunho were separated. It seems like he used Hanjun as a boytoy every time he fucked up his relationships lol. Not like Hanjun is innocent since he let that happen to himself.
I usually don't like reading stories with promiscuous/fuckboi MCs/MLs and Hanjun was a textbook fuckboi, but Yunjin was seriously so charismatic for me to ignore this. Such a lovable and interesting character. He wasn't completely unemotional or unfeeling but knew how to respect himself. Love that for him.

I really hope that page isn't his new lover or something. I can't see this man with anyone else but Ranmaru. I feel like Ranmaru will probably time travel again and end up 11 years prior to everything. I don't see how this is going to be where the majority of the story takes place. Everything and everyone feels so bitter right now. The slow updates are killing me though.

I think some people don't understand that realistic doesn't mean less frustrating but MORE frustrating. The characters here were frustrating as hell and annoyed the fuck out of me even if they are supposed to be realistic. Jaeha's trauma and insecurities were valid, but that doesn't mean he wasn't utterly frustrating and exhausting as a character to watch.
He projected his insecurities onto Eunho and it took them years as a result to reconcile after their initial fall out. Eunho was persistent, which was obviously annoying but he was also immature at the time. Of course it fucks with him hard when he gets ghosted by the person he had been pursuing for so long and he just randomly dumps him and runs away. You can empathize with Jaeha's insecurities but still be frustrated at how he handled his relationship with Eunho. They aren't mutually exclusive to each other. Also, Eunho is a spineless coward with no self-respect for himself.
Like I don't know but if Eunho was the bottom and Jaeha was the top, people would be far more outraged about him being shitty to Eunho rather than pages of defending a grown man dating an immature young dude and dumping him as he pleased. People saying "why doesn't Hanjoon get any hate" when his ass is getting dragged on the comment section of his own story like, are yall for real.

Yeah... The first couple needed more time in the oven because it was 30-40 chapters of pinning, just for it to end when they start dating. Seemed rather abrupt. Then season 2 rolls around and they share screen time with the second couple and you can see how they still have some pretty major issues they are dealing with in their relationship, which can be conflicting to solve when you have to share significant screen time with another couple.
I am glad the second couple's conflict wasn't with the big bro. Tired of that weird ass BL trope where the MC fucks the ML's brother. But anyway, the conflict between them seemed very frustrating. Yeonan didn't wanna date Dalguk in fear of breaking up but expected him to just stay single for him? I don't know, felt very silly. It felt like he wanted Dalguk to accommodate him in everyway all the while Dalguk is hanging of a thread because he is constantly waiting for Yeonan to reciprocate.
The slow burn in this is SLOW as hell though. I don't mind slow burns at all, but this one really felt like it dragged on and on and on for no good reason at all. The paneling work was very confusing, wish it was a little better to make it more engaging. The characters themselves are obviously interesting, but some of the conflict felt like the author padding the issue to make it longer than it is. All in all, it's a fine read but you need to have a LOT of patience to sit through it because it takes way longer than it should to get to the point.
The parents in this pissed me off. All a bunch of incompetent assholes. Si-in was probably the only competent parent of the bunch but he died. Sohan was a realistic character but I felt so irritated by the extreme filial piety nevertheless. The inability to stand up to toxic parents is a very real thing for kids with abusive parents, but it's frustrating to witness anyway.
The ending felt a bit rushed. I wonder why the author never gave us side stories. It would have been really nice. Nowadays manhwa authors use side stories as a way to expand more storyline, which is nice.
