Did Chiyo finally tell Igarashi that she used to date Ookuma or is she still lying?
As of the chapter I just posted today, 161, neither Chiyo nor Ookuma have told Igarashi about their previous, more than friends but not yet lovers relationship back in Middle School, but instead have continued to keep it a secret from him. It seems as if Chiyo feels it's more important to guard this secret with the guy who caused her "love trauma" than to be open an honest with her boyfriend. It almost feels as if Igarashi is the 3rd wheel in his own relationship.
I didn't expect an answer from the scanlation group, thanks for answering. Also, thank you for the work you are providing!
I feel sad for Igarashi since it means that she doesn't totally trust him even though he's doing his best. That's one of the reasons why I have mixed feelings about Chiyo. I can't wait to see what will happen if he finds out about their relationship.
I know how you feel! Chiyo can be absolutely sweet and adorable at times, as rare as those times might be, but at other times, she infuriates me to no end. My biggest beef with her is that she has kept this secret about Ookuma from Igarashi for over a hundred chapters now. She's even tried to get him jealous by telling him about her "romance" in Middle School, without naming the boy, of course. I figure that Chiyo will continue to have trust issue about Igarashi until she comes clean herself and tells him about Ookuma.
Yes, Nagatsuki has a juvenile crush on Ookuma. It's unbelievable that she doesn't know that Chiyo and Ookuma had a budding romance (they were never a couple and did not date, nor did either confess to the other), but apparently the mangaka seems to have forgotten that Nagatsuki was eavesdropping on Chiyo and Ookuma's conversation at the end of the festival back in chapter 71 and that, in the shoehorned backstory where she and Chiyo went to High School together, Chiyo would never have told her best friend about it. Nonetheless, the story now is that Nagatsuki does not know, and apparently is too dumb to make the connection.
This is so depressing, there's not one ounce of happiness in this story. Everybody is sad and everything feels hopeless. I've never read anything like this.
Well your lucky you never read 17703 and if you do uhhhhh please don't
No I've read it! It's definitely one of the saddest things I've read. But this one hits different because I relate a lot to all of the characters to some extent.
Ahh I see
