The father and half brother are just hateful, self serving assholes. I’m pretty sure the father said nothing because he got to keep a really good worker who would go above and beyond for no extra compensation, and just a general disregard for anyone but himself. The brother is the same minus the labor exploitation. He doesn’t consider Seingwon as someone to care for or protect, so it never occurred to him to stop him from destroying himself over a pointless goal
