The connection is, this story is about the first cheonma. The one who will establish the demon sect. In nano machine, first cheonma famous as the strongest being on demon sect even people from orthodox recognize it. So this story about how the first cheonma life before building his own sect. He also can make his own skill by learning and combining all knowledge he knows. I dont read the novel yet, but people said that in nano machine dont have skill like this and that, they said mc likes to steal or learn other skill then he killed them(hes maniac as you know). And this story is years ago before the nano machine timeline, so there must be some difference in sects, social life, how the world work, and many more.
