woah... rather than lovable characters and a beautiful world, this story is littered with painfully relatable moments that humanize our characters to the point where we celebrate their achievements and curse their villainy. the plot is so so gripping, you just have to keep reading to find out what happens next. truly, it is so well written: you won't fall for the characters but will grow fond of them. the lack of tropes is so fantastic--how the obsessive leads aren't hot or whatever for lusting after the mc but geneuinly horrible people in every way. how the ml is the only man worth caring about in this story and the women are strong, nuanced, and amazing characters--how exquisitely rare for a story in this genre!! how our mc is truly well and powerless but the exact opposite of a damsel. she does everything when she's given nothing by the world that is so cruel to her. what a fitting ending for her and her lover, what a fitting ending for the witch who helped her, what a fitting ending for the men who tried to ruin her and then claimed they loved her, and what a fitting ending for the original protagonist, hate and love intertwined between these two. just... i'm rambling... it's great
