We need to acknowledge Jk's character for a while and how stubborn and arrogant he is and this will apply to how he develops as a character. It's not like his development is going to be a steady upwards, it's clear he will have a much more 'interesting' and varied path to redemption (or I hope so.)
To allow someone like Jk to simply have a perfect character arc within a few chapters is honestly boring and not satisfying — realistically and in storytelling. As per Kim Dan, I feel like he is developing as a character as well (yes, even after willingly offering his body). He is tired out and just wants to cut things quick, let the boy breathe. He has also grown a much needed backbone which personally, *chef's kiss*.
Let's approach this story with a bit more nuance because it truly is an interesting look into the characters' psychology of both Kim Dan and Jk.
