Most of the comments say how she's petty because she's low on love and homophobic. I feel like there's more to her than what you see at first glance.
As she's already said, she didn't have a problem with any other person being gay , but her brother being gay would cause her mother pain. She's already seen her mother suffer so much that she doesn't want her brother to ruin her further. She just loves her mother too much and is afraid of the implications of her brother's homosexuality on their family. She feels like if she scolds him or hates him enough, he'll eventually give in and somehow "stop being gay"
