The story does feel rushed here & there in the beginning, but as of chp. 10, they did portray the pasts of both FL and ML. One wants to go back to their previous world due to constant nightmares as well as existential crisis and the other who used to be cheerful and bright towards the fl repressed their feelings to the point it grew twisted and took a full 360 turn for the worse in an event (something happens and the Ml faints) which completely changed him. Waiting for more chps.
