Lauren is closeted I think. He feels guilty for having a relationship behind his parents' back. So when ever Chip shows affection to him, it's like a reminder that he's stabbing his family in the back.

you are right about the closet gay there are a lot of hints here and the raws prove it too. He is ashamed to be gay and won't admit it cause his mom is homophobic. He even tells the therapist in one chapter that he just isn't gay.
This author creates such great elements of a character's personality. You get that the main personality in all of them is sincerity. They just use it in different ways, but the real one uses all of those sincerities, in multiple situations. He has already shown sad, mad, happy, sappy, social sincerities in just 11 chapters.

The kid seems to want to be touched like a woman. He might have been treated differently from women seeing he freaked out over being touched by the elder lady. He said that the servicer touched him gently, and that might go into his past that men weren't giving him a soft experience, whether from his dad or another servicer who did do gay service. Who knows? I sure as hell want to know what happened.
I got the impression he freaked out because she said his wife will be lucky one day.
And hes thinking he'll never have a wife because he wants to do it with a man?
