For the first time ever, I actually liked the manhwa more than the novel
Perhaps personal preference but I DO NOT LIKE THE MC AT ALL in the novel. I started reading the novel after the manhua and I can't believe that the manhua MC is so much more straight forward and likable than novel MC smh.

NO. Just no. When the MC keep telling himself about the FL like almost every single chapter, doesn't communicate properly, CHILDISH but in the not so fun way completely unlike the manhua MC. Just slightly disappointed but that's just me. Take it with a grain of salt and you should read it too.
Also, very little interaction between ml and mc which is very disappointing. Just constant monologue from the MC in the sense that I really can't brain what he simply assumed.

That's the thing. Its always a jerk then redemption but I can't see what to forgive because he is A REAL PIECE of shit and I hate that I have to read him grovelling for forgiveness. It was cute at the beginning until all the politic drama and the ML stupidity and cold betrayal.
Have you read the whole novel? tbh i'll stay for the manhua (although it'll prob take years and years to finish at this point) but as with most chinese novels its a fucking whirlwind hahahahah like 90% angsty drama and 10% preciousness.

I think with MC's personality, although the naivety and innocence was cute in the beginning, just ended up with him being weak and lacklustre by mid-end. He didn't man up as much as I had hoped.
I already half expected he wouldn't man up as we hoped he should. He was raised as a slave and mute and abused his whole life even before he was married into the household. I'm okay with being lenient with his own character development for someone of that period who was raised in that kind of circumstances + no rebirth no reincarnated no Isekai. So yeah I love the MC, my precious boy. *spoiler* but at least when he realize that the general is a piece of shit and he did man up for a bit, YAY.
But I can't forgive is the ML. I don't enjoy reading scum ML like him.
P.s: I mtl-ed the novel half way and read the spoiler afterwards and now imma trying to mtl the end... But I gave up lol no way.

Yes what he did was WRONG WRONG. not condoning it but he didn't know its wrong because, 1. He was born in that place and not knowing better. 2. He turned into that since he was a kid and has been like that since so I expect he didn't know much about "noncon touching etc etc". I think he just got stimulated by what he saw and thoguht its okay since its in the MC thoughts flowing out. He's stupid like that but he will learn.
I promise you, later on its gonna be all fluff and good times ok
