here was a reply saying that using PTSD and disabilities from war to make ML "evil" was in poor taste, we clearly arent reading the same manhwa. PTSD and disabilities of course wouldn't outright make anyone evil, even the author isnt showing it that way but it does affect people, especially people like ML who openly said he was a proud and arrogant man. Going to war for honor, but coming back to his already dead parents and siblings, had to see his own friends die, not even remotely as strong as he was before, limping and with a terrible scar on his face is bound to make someone like him a sad and angry man, a corpse of what he once was. Did they even win the war?
I didn't see him as evil, maybe in chapter 1 when we saw him being abusive with no context, but later on? No way. He's a victim of war in a sexist society where he cant even mourn or begin to understand where the anger comes from.
That same comment said something about how an ILY wouldn't cure anyone in his situation, but I disagree again (i dont like this person). In a time when a lobotomy was a viable medical practice for illnesses like depression or anxiety, I think someone who cares can help a lot. The FL didnt just tell him ILY, in fact she never did. What she did was stay by his side, proving over and over again that she was there for him, bringing light and joy to his everyday life. Even in his worst, his “evil” side was the result of those grotesque medical practices that “tried” to cure him from NOT THE PTSD but the seizures and seeing how that source of light and joy could be taken away from him.
