Rolling with what life/death throws at her, she learns about others, herself and what living can really be. There's a war on, both before and after for her, but it's in this new world that she discovers there's more to life than just death. It's a decent tale with just enough action and angst. Yes, there's predictability, but, please, there's not really anything brand spanking new in fiction, as it's all limited to what the reader knows and wants.
