I'm glad my hunch was right. the uncle wasn't really evil. the right word for him is "COWARD BUT GREEDY BUT STILL COWARD". he did care for Pell before, but since he's a coward, he's only thinking for himself, so he abandoned him. now, he's crawling back cuz he thinks it's fine now, and he could get benefits again.
