I'm here because I just heard this was being dropped by the translators T^T aaaaa I understand because it is so difficult to translate with all the confusing words and slang but I HOPE and PRAY someone else will pick this up because damn this is like my all-time favorite series. RIP.

Thought I'd some more thoughts about this seeing as Rogi, along with Yashiro are my favourite characters, even if they are terribly flawed. Yet to be uncovered is Reika's backstory and how she came to be adopted by Rogi. Reika says to her dad, that he can tell her about this "secret" when he is ready, hinting that she already knows what it is, and has accepted it herself. Rogi is unlikely to be biologically related to Reika in anyway (he's gay, same sex couples can't legally adopt either in Japan), and he doesn't appear to have any siblings himself whose children he could have adopted. Reika does look a lot like Rogi though, but that's probably just coincidence. It would be nice to see Rogi get some closure on his emotional relationship with Akitora which has been ongoing for around 30 years. They became physically distant some time ago, and Akitora has cut off communication, but still Rogi clings onto hos emotional attachment to him, but as he gets older I think he is 'needing" the sense of family that he hoped Akitora would provide him with, as he now has this love and family with his daughter who he is devoted to, and vice versa. So at the current point in the story he is fulfilled in his hope to have a sense of belonging and family, but Akitora's presence is still acting like a chain around his ankle.

Yeah! like so much of this story still has to happen. We need to know how Rogi and Akitora split, what happens to Ane-san, what is going on with Asuda and his jealousy towards Rogi, and of course Reika... like this story is so complex and interesting that another group has gotta pick it up. Someone will, this story is just too good. Luckily I can read a little bit of Japanese and kind of got the gist of the next chapter. I could make a summary but if you just look at the raws you can kind of understand.

I wonder if Ane-san's death (when the son was 7) influenced Akitora distancing himself from Rogi. My speculation, is that Akitora maybe became depressed and isolated after this, as we see in the other books that it is Asoda who looked after Tatsyuki (sp) primarily as was the main parental figure. So maybe after her death, he was no longer able to parent his son, so allocated this role to Asoda, and also had no motivation to be with Rogi,

True, I really want to know what happened with him. Poor Akitora! and Tatsuyuki. But Asoda is a better father figure probably... Also I bet Ane-san was murdered by someone. I just have a feeling someone is going to kill someone else. It is called jealousy for a reason! Some sort of jealousy murder. But I would be kinda sad if it is Rogi who kills her... I hope it isn't. But that would explain them going their separate ways.

If Rogi killed the Waka's wife , he probably would end up with murdered and thrown in Tokyo Bay. But instead, even 17 years after Ane-san's death, Rogi was shown to be working in the same Yakuza group as Akitora as usual. If he killed the wife I doubt he would have been able to keep his job and his life, even if Akitora had/has a soft spot for him. I guess anything it possible though, but I wouldn't want him to be the killer. Maybe she died of natural causes. The impact her death had on the 4 main male characters (Rogi, Akitora, Asoda and Tatsyuki) would be great for the plot anyway, seeing as they all were negatively affected by some sort of jealousy and her death might have triggered Akitora becoming distant from his son, to the extent his underling becomes his guardian, and also cutting off communication from Rogi. Despite the lack of contact, Rogi still is wanting to be noticed and loved by Akitora, even after years of being ignored so I would imagine their break up was m-e-s-s-y!

Agree there's no way Rogi killed her and is still breathing twenty years on. My guess is that her death involves a tangle of guilt. She gets caught in the crossfire of a situation ignited by Rogi and/or Akitora, or Akitora fails to protect her while obsessed with Rogi. Something where Akitora feels responsible for her death and connects that guilt to Rogi so that he must cut Rogi out of his life.

OMG??? Hilarious...I love funny stories that poke fun of how ridiculous and unrealistic BL manga is, so this manga is a gem to me. And its somehow relatable and realistic...
