i’ve read the next novel chapter, and here’s the ‘truth’ (summary):
(flashback to before he wakes up in og moondae’s body)
park moondae, a high school student feeling really down, watches fancams from the weTube account "gun1234." he loves these videos because they feature lesser-known singers, which makes him feel good to support them. however, one day, the account suddenly stops posting with a simple message: "i quit to play games.”
with nothing left to hold on to, moondae decides to end it all in a motel with some sleeping pills. after moondae falls asleep, he wakes up from this flashback and then realizes something shocking—he was the owner of the "gun1234" account all along. he had deleted it when he began a new chapter in his life.
he didn’t think he needed to make a public announcement. then, he suddenly realizes the status window might be karma for that excuse.
he wonders if he did anything wrong to deserve this sudden death and finds it odd that someone cared about his fancams. this flashback shows that park moondae, the original owner of this body, is really dead.
the situation that put him in moondae’s body seems unlikely but makes sense because of their connection. deleting the account likely caused the sudden death.
it’s unclear if the status window was meant to show sympathy for moondae or was just a post-death mechanism, but he feels moondae would be happy now. the person who loved filming fancams is now an idol, finally able to enjoy being in the spotlight.
