Everytime i see some uber toxic violent mafia semes that act like they live on a different planet than everyone else, by the end of the series i tend to think like do these ppl even love each other? Like can they sit down and talk about their hobbies, friends? Anything other than just have sex. Ik its not supposed to be wholesome and whatnot and it’s not just this one ya know just the whole archetype just makes me feel bad..mainly for the uke ESPECIALLY the historical ones like steel under silk and potn.

the crazy thing about this one is that, by the end, it’s actually painfully and almost unbearably clear how much they love and care about each other. like i read the final few chapters and i’m like holy shit how did we even land here…???? this series is really REALLY fucked up but it’s written so well the characters genuinely feel human

if u decide to go through with it, definitely major content warning because it is honestly a difficult read… even so, it was really interesting and i couldn’t make myself stop, lol. there’s definitely a sense of trauma bonding between mc and ml (again, ml was cruel—CRUEL—to mc) but in the end you can understand how they ended up so attached to each other. the character writing in this is incredible, and it really made sense to me Why certain characters acted the way they did… they weren’t cruel for no reason at all, but they didn’t always have a particularly honorable reason either. they were flawed in a way that felt real and couldn’t be easily written away, but still with the capacity to gradually change

This story has its problems but the incest isn’t what y’all should be focused on. The pacing can be annoying and the ending didn’t really stick the landing but, what I think the better part of this manhwa is, are the characters views and their situations ,it doesn’t seem very plot based as much as it is focused on how differently the characters the world around them. I thought that the curly haired dude was interesting it was the first time I had seen someone talk about love in that way iykyk the whole candy melting away thing, the ways his eyes don’t focus right and only see certain features on people at a time, is pretty relatable for me and the mc’s apathy and insecurity complex about his writing, his perfectionist attitude. The way he always presents himself to be looked at was a small detail but was something that I think was overlooked, he’s obviously overly conscious which is something I can relate to again..(The bottom not being a pushover was refreshing as well) red head is well.. just redhead he wasn’t really all that special or “relatable” but I don’t think he was a horrible character, some of y’all act like he’s terrible.
their “morally grey” actions like splitting up their parents marriage was their fault but it’s not like they didn’t suffer either they both felt terrible and were trying to fix it. They wanted to just be together and happy too. Also the parents have free will they got divorced on their own and stayed that way even after the boys moved out. It may have been awkward but still, anyways enough yapping I just had to rant.
Even if the incest isn’t your gripe about it, it’s real not that bad of a story and definitely not trash. I will die on this hill (╬￣皿￣)凸 even if I’m alone on it
