First of all, Shuri has always loved the kids and they loved her back even in her previous life but couldn't express it. Jeremy, especially, was truly devoted to her in both lives. The Church, specifically Cardinal Richelieu, knew that fact and tried to make the Neuschwanstein do their dirty work by murdering Shuri and blaming the other party (I forgot who). So yeah, everything was the church's fault. It hasn't been revealed how or why she came back to life but Cardinal Richelieu sensed that she's special in this life. He has caused much turmoil for her, so Shuri had to reveal that she did indeed die once. She probably doesn't know that her death was because of that exact man.
I must say, you should read this from the beginning to get a proper sense.

In the first timeline, the miscommunication between shuri and the kids, both of whom couldn't express their feelings well, was what made them apart and i think shuri too kinda acknowledges it during a scene in the story. She absolutely did love them and they too did. The church was the main culprit.
While the first timeline is pretty traumatic, the events of it are played out earlier in the story and the current timeline is focused mostly about Shuri healing so it's def worth the read. Also this is pretty much a revenge story too of Shuri so I'd say, again, a def read.

Yeah it's really funny his way of thinking. Like, "I saw my daugther destroying the world in the future" (or something like that, we still don't know), then instead the father gives love and affection, he decides to lock her up in the hope she doesn't blew the world.
Very wise indeed a child raised with nothing good will certainly not held any grudge against the world LOL

It’s not very original but it’s ok. Honestly i enjoyed it more than many of the same type, it’s probably at least worth trying ?
(Yeah , geniuses, anything taming another , and plethora of villain variations, etc names are really getting disturbingly bad, you’re so right )
