For those who want Ruby to rush telling Isek about her past trauams (which consists of a lot both from this life AND her previous life) and are rushing her to tell him, as a novel reader, I believe that the way he found out was very befitting for the story. Ruby has a lot of trust issues from both lives and you can tell she has a ingrained fear of men, especially huge and strong men, including her brother and her husband. She has shown moments in her past where she believed she can make her own decisions, but always finds out the hard way that she shouldnt have. She's clearly scared of ruining what she has now, like she believes she did in the past as she always blames herself in the end, even when it is clearly not her fault. The flow throughout the story where you can begin to see Ruby becoming more confident in her decisions and slowly opening up more to Isek is done naturally. the time will eventually come where she can truly fully believe that when Isek finds out, he will still love her and be there by her side, but clearly as she has still not told him, she is still not confident about that yet, and is still testing the waters on how close she can really be to him. Her character development and the love between the two of them are done very well. Even at the beginning where people shame Ruby for the way she acts and calling her cringe is unfair on her part as she is doing this not to be cringe, but in her perspective: to survive, as she has used this method in the past several times and it has worked for her so whynot now? Ruby is a great main character and her and Isek are truly the best couple. I cannot wait for them to finish adapting the novel.
