For me it was worth it, it's a bumpy ride for sure but I got to see the character growth of the two leads, misunderstandings being cleared up,etc.
If you're this angry at chapter 30 then I recommend you to drop it when Violet leaves his ass. ML apologizes one single time and acts pathetic for sympathy and FL runs back to his arms again. After that, he immediately starts abusing and screaming at her again because she said that his parents who drugged beat and humiliated her are toxic.

Not only his ''punishment'' was just cutting off their extra money but he also screamed at FL because she said that his parents don't love him even though he admitted to himself twice.
