You know, I gave this manga a chance because the concept of people connecting through music is very precious to me. But this misses the mark by miles.
First of all, did you think the readers would ignore the pedophilia? Yuusuke is only in high school while Haruki is an adult and yet they’re spending nights together. Fucking disgusting. I’m not blaming Yuusuke because he’s only a minor, and he’s being taken advantage of by Haruki who is CLEARLY using him for his body. I really hate types of characters like Haruki. Just die. But I’m not defending Yuusuke 100%. He fucking KNOWS that he’s not a serious partner to Haruki and yet he still clings to her. Why? Are you stupid, Yuusuke?
On top of that, none of the main characters are likable. Out of everyone, I only like Erina and Dai-san. Maki is a fucking pushover and I cringe so hard whenever she blushes over Yuusuke. Oh don’t even get me started on Yuusuke with his tsundere act or something. I get he has some trauma from a girl dumping him but his backstory his dumb in retrospect.
Oh I have defend Maki somewhat because when Haruki said “Are you one of Yuusuke’s fangirls? You like him, don’t you? You’re just chasing after a facade after seeing his handsome face.” Something like that. Are you.. deaf? Maki LITERALLY said that she was Yuusuke’s classmate that was supporting his band. You’re the one chasing after a facade. Oh, it’s already so predictable, Haruki-san. Yuusuke will leave you for Maki, and all of a sudden you’re desperate for Yuusuke’s attention even though you rejected him so many times. Ugh, I hope your music career perishes, Haruki.
I’m just puzzled..? First 20 chapters were alright, accidental pregnancy with a good looking red flag. Okay, I’m in. But 50 chapters later and it’s still the same thing. Soo where was the plot again, and was there even a plot to begin with?
Main leads dynamic turns into pretty good but then kinda lackluster. Super strong 6’4 nonchalant handsome gang leader & a damsel in distress (w/ a side of parent issues). Turns out, our FL bites and can stand up for herself! Great. But then I got frustrated bc she can hardly communicate with this dense brick of a man. So I was actually hoping she’d be a stronger FL but she’s reliant on the ML for a lot of things. And he comes to her rescue every single time because I swear EVERYBODY is out to get her. This ML has a pretty face but MY GOD he’s insufferable. He’s also a combination of three mixed signals. Sex, I’ll kill anyone who gets in my way, and don’t touch my wife. Take your pick every time that he appears bc that’s all he does, and we hardly even get his pov. They just both became so annoying.
Then the plot about this whole gangster drama was entirely irrelevant and poorly executed. We don’t really learn much about FL or ML’s mobster families, they’re more used as a plot device so the couple can get closer together where it went like “Please help me or my father will be really mad”. Then that’s over and that random vengeful lady Song Hayeon shows up and made our ML get stabbed. Not very much details on how/when/where/why about when he got stabbed, just more used as plot device to get closer to FL. Then later the lady kills herself with the whole “If I can’t have you, no one can” gimmick, taking herself out before she humiliates herself further. Ok, boring. Seen that a million times. And also um, why did he stab himself? I mean I love that he’s crazy but also you have a pregnant wife?
Also isn’t this lady supposed to be pregnant? Bc if she’s pregnant then I must be 300 lbs. She has flatter stomach than my phone screen?? Idk the timeline but that isn’t right. I’m on chapter 51 and at this rate we’re not gonna see a baby til chapter 400.
Anyways. It’s good to enjoy a mindless romance without noticing the gaping plot holes. In my mind, this story had a great plot and the ML is a decent human being!
I think you’re onto something here. We are indeed 50 chapters in and it feels like the plot is nonexistent. There was way too much random and irrelevant interactions, not to mention way too much fucking to keep track of everything that is happening, let alone something that is actually relevant to the story.
As for her pregnancy, some women don’t necessarily show. She could be portrayed as one of those women that is pregnant but doesn’t show a belly. I’ve never been pregnant myself, but I’m assuming one would start showing at around 4-5 month mark. Currently in the story she must be at the end of her first trimester or even very well into her second trimester. Again, it’s hard to follow the timeline and the plot because of all the unnecessary shit.
