cats lives are really short compared to humans right? so those cats have the choice to be a "long living cat" which means that a cat can have a long life, a life as long as a human's, just so they can stay by their beloved human's side for a long time. and also to have a human body.. but to have this "long life" the cat must make their beloved human love them back/want to live with them for life, with their cat form. the cat is given a human body and they look human except for the beloved human lol who only sees them as a cat at first. if the beloved human likes cat back, cat will turn into a man in beloved human's eyes, and cat will have a long life which he can spend together with his human.if the human doesn't love him back, he is a human except to the eyes of the human who didn't love him back. he is a human BUT only has a life as long as a cat's. so it means they'll die eventually.
the first story is the simple route. cute cat wanted to be together with his human so he makes the deal. he is a human to everyone else except mc. mc only sees him as annoying pet. but mc loved his pet and voila, cat became human to everyone, eventually including his master, and cat has the long life thingy.
the second story, botan(cat) made the deal in hopes that the person he loved will take care of him and love him. but sadly, that person left the apartment abruptly. botan was left alone. it's impossible for him to finish the deal now. the human he loved just left him. the human he loved abandoned him and didn't like him back. so botan is stuck being a human with a short life. he is now a human who didn't finish the deal, so that why he'll only have a cat's life length and he'll never be a human to his beloved's eyes. but shinta comes along and falls in love with the abandoned human botan. botan eventually fell in love with shinta too. but it's a curse or condition with the deal that the person he loved must love him back as a cat in order for him to become human. he doesn't love the person who abandoned him anymore. he loved shinta now. so he turns into a cat for shinta, except for everyone else. shinta must fall in love with cat form botan before botan can be truly hunan and have a long life together with him uwu.

wait i’m confused,, doesn’t the second chapter (second story i guess) have the same guy from the first one?? or do they both just have black hair?? cause i’ve reread the second chapter and i’m still lost.. basically is the mc from the first chapter the same cat from the second chapter- it doesn’t make sense that he would be but i’m lost so
