But then the plot twist is that they end up falling for each other and neither of them end up with the guy they both had a crush on. I think the guy they had a crush on was also into or with someone else, and didn’t have interest in either of them but i can’t remember.

I know it’s a regular thing to make character dense so the plot will last longer, but come on this is just ridiculous.
