Well Jane can't do anything but comply or quit. As the maid, she has signed up to do as she is told. And some people, though good, don't leave situations like that because they are afraid the abuse will worsen after they're gone. She could turn a blind eye to what was going on before because she wasn't doing anything directly and had other tasks in the mansion.

And as for the Duke, he is way out of character. For his character who hates women as it is mentioned, the first reaction should have been oh let's a do a background check for this lady, her husband died after he married her she is sus , maybe she is the one who planted the spy but he goes oh ho interesting, let's get married.
And her plan of leaving everything after a year is also dumb. Like She will be nice to the kid, become his greatest support only to leave him with even bigger trauma after a year.
Ah, yes. I see the "Duke hates women/is impotent" so often as a cover for these stories so I didnât look too deep into it. But he didnât sign anything and she guaranteed to take care of the spy for him so he has the time for the background check. That's easily a situation of "If it's not in writing, it didn't happen." I just thought he was being...capricious? Flippant? He's bored but doesn't want a ton of women fawning over his status. And now, he has a bit of entertainment.
I definitely agree with the leaving the kid after a year part. She could be kind to him up until the Duke officially adopts him and it would hurt to see her leave. I know she knows he is better off with the Duke but she has changed the directory of the story and can continue to be nice to him as long as the kid wants. I just donât believe with this kind of story that she will actually be able to do that. "Something" will come up to change that plan.

The only story in my whole manhwa journey where the FL was actually able to accomplish her goal was "Kill the villainous"
Seonjun was a creep towards the end, the end couple had potential but ended up lowkey boring mostly due to the way they were written(my personal opinion). I think the author is better at writing drama and comedy than romance still entertaining up until that point tho
