What? She told him everything starting from her downfall to going back in time, something she didn't even tell her papa. I am talking about lying her way out of it. Remember the time when she went to the temple to get some answers and the god Vita told her about the screw up and gave Tia the power to carve her own path(Ch9,10)? A new oracle was sent by the god related to that. Tia should have taken advantage of this and tell everyone that the god besides giving her a new name also clarified(to Tia personally) that she isn't the girl they are looking for.
Or just tell everyone that she still wets her bed or something to get the engagement annulled ╮(￣▽￣)╭

You know an author did a good job when even the people in the comment section want to jump into the novel like our heroine and protect that cinnamon bun.
Some people are hating on the male lead since he had ordered her to be burned to death in her previous life because of her evil deeds to satisfy her greed and envy which also led to the downfall of her own house. This is a point that the female lead herself agrees upon and regrets. If we see it from the ML's point of view, then Elise is no doubt a villain. Elise had a very loving family, no one mistreating her or anything that would drive her to behave the way she was. (If we go back to the chapter where she comes back in time, all the servants were scared of her. Why? Cause she was, originally, that kind of person, a rich spoiled brat who thought she was entitled to everything even the prince. Not the person she is right now)
Let's take another ML into consideration shall we. The one in the Abandoned Empress who was a jerk to the hard working FL just because... why not? He had no legit reason to even dislike her. Yet he treated her like shit, raped her, humiliated her and then kill her. Hating the ML here is really obvious.
My point? Just because a FL went back in time and the ML is pokerfaced who led the FL to her death doesn't always mean that the ML is bad. Not in this case at least. Sure Elise has reformed her ways hence the attitude of the prince changed. The Prince's attitude and treatment towards her in the original timeline was influenced by her own behavior. As for death penalty, if we consider the regime that is explainable.
