You know what the real irony of this story is? Doyoung wants to leave the hotel with the same Hyunjin he entered with, but that won't happen even if he correctly chooses the original one. Because after all this the real Hyunjin going to be so traumatized he'll no longer be the same person he was when he walked in.
Nope. I still hate the dad. I don't care if he his intentions are good.
After that flashback it's obvious that he jumps to conclusions and does what he thinks is the right thing but never sits back to consider that maybe he should TALK to other people to see how they feel before making decisions that effect them greatly. He does what he thinks is right for his son, but never once has he even asked his son if that's what HE wants. Never has he explained to him WHY he did something and WHY it was for the best. For example, the mom left and he just brings in a new person to look after the son. Doesn't explain why the mom left or help his son deal with his feelings of confusion. Example two: he chucks the scallop out of the house without telling his son and then ERASES HIS MEMORIES because somehow that is easier then explaining to him he random magic creatures could be dangerous and he shouldn't being them home? And then questions why his son hates him when he found out? This man has no self-awareness what-so-ever. He doesn't care how his actions effect his son because everything he does is right and somehow his son should understand that even though he tells him nothing. He smothers him with 'love' and thinks that's enough. Until the dad can realize that his son is his own person with feelings and ideas and the dad can change his actions to reflect that realization I am going to hate this character to the core.
I hate the "confess their feelings to the unconscious lover only to find out they heard everything" trope, it feels like such a cop-out. I would have been more impressed if the seme had figured out his feelings on his own and then apologized to the uke sincerely instead of the bike accident acting as a catalyst.
My favorite thing about this manga is how random the plot is. You can never predict where it's going to go next. Each chapter is a new adventure.
The only constants are girls and wooden logs.
