Honestly, yeah this is a toxic bl manhwa but in actuality it’s really not that bad…especially since the other guy has some fight back it’s not just one person being mean it evens out the relationship making it more enjoyable (coming from a person who also dislikes abusive bl) I read the novel and the top really isn’t as bad as he seems right now. And he’s not an evil rapist abuser at most he’s just an asshole. Just my opinion though …if you don’t like it it’s fine:p
The problem is, we've experienced so much worse with this author via Keith that Chase is actually not that bad in comparison. Like someone else said, he's just an asshole that throws temper tantrums and has no behavior. I wouldn't go as far as calling him an eventual green flag, like others do, but he's more of a pink flag I guess? Maybe more of a purple? But anyway, he gets better!
The series is really worth it for Josh though. Like, honestly one of my favorite characters.
Yeah honestly, the bar is low for omegaverse tops but Chase never rapes or forces himself on Josh, Josh is fully capable of fighting back, but very open to having sex with him anyway. The Manhwa has already hinted at that from the beginning with the scene of Josh encouraging Chase to rail him harder lol (instead of the usual “No, no, wait, stop!”). But in the novel at least, Chase becomes super sweet and agonises over his treatment of Josh/is terrified of forcing himself on Josh. He’s not naturally a violent asshole, but he refuses to have sex to release his pheromones, which, as the manhwa has explained, means they build up inside him and make him a bit crazy lol

He’s actually really afraid of hurting anyone because of his traumas and how his family made him feel about himself…he’s not violent or abusive he’s literally just and asshole most of the time…they both desire each other even though they put on the front that they hate each other, they don’t. Especially the bottom being able to handle him and even fighting him willingly this is a mutual hate love relationship… idk where this person is getting abusive honestly I think they should be in jinx’s comment section with that

It’s fine if your into these kind of fictional toxic stories, I still read them occasionally but we don’t have to pretend like the story doesn’t contain abuse.

This is funny to read when you know a lil bit of coding. Although most of the scenes were unrealistic（￣へ￣） but it's a manhwa after all ╮(￣▽￣)╭. It's a good read. Not the best but its not bad. Good for reading in one sitting

As I read it, I somehow want the story to be just a brother relationship thing not like romantic. yk? By how the story is building up, it feels like they are family. Like- the MC found a younger brother by heart. It will be wholesome. Shifting this into a romantic thing seems to be a bit weird to me, cause the MC treats the younger man as his brother, and the age gap is..., also it seems like the MC groomed the ML which is not the case of course but by thhe course of story, it seems like it lol. Idk if it's just me butt...yeah, I might drop this if the romantic part happens

It's not weird. A lot of BLs feature these kind of grooming/incest vibes plots. Sometimes I can handwave them away but this creator puts a a lot more effort and detailing into developing this Found Family plot than most. It's harder to ignore.

I think you should drop this manhwa. It will take more time more and more to go to their relationship part. And by that time, you gonna be even more attached to them and I don't think you will like it. And yes they will INDEED become bf/bf. So it's saved to drop now.
Yea but I don't think it can be considered grooming, cause the MC never shows any romantic or sexual interest in the ML and just treats him like a kid brother. He's pretty adamant about it being that way and just helping him, whereas in irl cases of grooming, the perpetuator knows what they're doing and wait till the kid is 18 or whatever to make their move. It seems to be the ML here is the one going through puberty and the only uncomfortable thing is him forming some dependency on the older MC and mistaking the first person who helps him genuinely for a romantic interest.
This kind of older bottom meets younger top who ends up reversing the tables on them trope is everywhere in danmei. To me it feels like grooming if the older person is the rapey kind of top. But I do hope the ML here won't become the stereotypical crazy obsessive type of top either. This webtoon so far does a good job of building up their backstory. Totally had me there thinking the ML is the bottom in the beginning.
