nonsensical telenovela plot. if you're a filipino housewife who misses the old ABS-CBN noontime dramas, then you'd probably enjoy this. i can forgive it if the execution was actually good, but it was meh at best. the author should have put more focus on making the characters more relatable and showing the story through their perspectives to make the readers understand the intention behind their actions. half of the time, their decisions don't make any sense. the characters' personalities aren't sturdily built and may change on a whim from time to time. Jimmy had no redeeming characteristics whatsoever. what? just because he started treating whatshisname decently, we're supposed to suddenly emphatize with him? hell nah, the author is reaching. art style is average. everyone has some sort of personality problem, for some reason. it made my blood boil too many times to count. it seriously made me think of taking boxing classes just so I could beat up the characters. maybe if it had the least bit of self-awareness, it could've been at least something to laugh about. Overall a meh read. 4/10
given the chance, i would like to commit a hate crime on the following characters, in this particular order:
1. Mrs. Kang (Glen and River's mom)
2. River
3. The kids that bullied Marin
4. Sky
5. Leo
thank you and goodnight.
What did Sky and Leo do to deserve a hate crime??
