the author has a piss fetish but doesn’t know how to express it
I never said it was weird. I said the author’s exhibiting a poorly expressed piss fetish, and I really don’t think I’m wrong about that. They spend more time idling in the bathroom than any other setting, and the same amount of detail, if not more, goes into urination than character development, smut, or plot. Honestly, I don’t have a piss fetish, but even I’d rather just have them go all out with whatever they want to do with that, than spend one more chapter going through the motions of this incredibly mundane human chore.
Okay, we get it. He’s not just going to accept him back. Good for him. But like, come on, this is not making for exciting entertainment, I barely feel like anything has happened in the last ten chapters, aside from them eating, driving, or walking. Mr. Kwon isn’t taking any impressive leaps forward, and yeon oscillates between wanting Mr. Kwon to confess, and not wanting anything to do with him. Which is super realistic, but like not that fun to read about tbth. Especially when it goes on for this long with no other plot development.
I feel like the chapters were important for Jaehyuk’s development. He realized that he enjoys yeonoh‘s company and that what he’s feeling is not just guilt. He seems to know that he‘s on thin ice so he has been holding back when is comes to yeonoh, being very careful about what he says and does, making sure to pay attention to what he likes etc. at his own pace. You can‘t really expect someone to change so quickly when Jaehyuk only just figured out what being in love feels like. I too would like to see Jaehyuk beg and cry on his knees dramatically but that’s just not the type of character he is.
I understand why the chapters are important, I don’t expect anyone to change quickly, and I actually don’t want to see jaehyuk beg and cry on his knees dramatically.
I just think the way the author is choosing to tell this part of the story is boring. I wish there was something else developing along side it to break up the monotony, or the falling action didn’t drag out for so long from the readers perspective. I never signed up for a slice of life series, but that’s the pattern it’s fallen into.
I actually don't think it's boring at all! If you paid attention the author tries to convey emotions with their art and the colors they use, not words. I think the melanchonic feeling also comes from the fact that they both don't know how to talk to each other anymore. Jaehyuk feels ashamed about the way he treated yeonoh and doesn't feel like he has the right to face him.
But yea Yeonoh has been getting hurt over and over again in this series. I think it's nice to see him slowly get his life together and finally put himself first, even if it means cutting Jaehyuk out of his life completely. To me the series is more about character growth than anything
Sooo trueee. Ik bl is read by people mostly for the spicy scenes, but sometimes the plot n storyline n most importantly how the story unfolds is also important. This manhua has everything, good smut, good story n perfect pacing. Waiting for the next chapters sooo much
lmao, it's 3 chapters of "boring" shit, nothing to cry abt. Besides, that's the whole point of the manwha itself, why people like me actually enjoy it. Cause unlike other shitty fast paced stories, this one actually makes an effort to convey what the charcters feel, allows you to take a minute and process everything instead of shoving every plotlines on your face. You're probably not used to this kind of "boring", but this is the kind of boring that made it so good.
"Ik bl is read by people mostly for the spicy scenes" This makes me SAAAAAD, OMG Becasue while there's always been smut bl, it wasn't until about 10 years ago, maybe a bit less, that practically EVERY bl became smut--"yaoi" just meant that there would be sex scenes in the story, but the relationship development/character growth/plot/story was more the main focus and said sex scenes were often brief and softcore. It was only when the "smut" tag was ALSO there that there was lots of sex. Nowadays, it's like shounen-ai gets all the good story and relationship growth and sexual tension, but they aren't allowed to show you the spicy payoff (which feels AWFUL) OR you get a long smutty thing with a bad/non-existent plot--the in-between is gone. Don't get me wrong, I like me some smut too, but I'm sad that basically all bl has gone the smut route because I also like story and the smut feels so much better when it's earned .
LOL, sorry for the ramble! Glad you're liking the story <3
I’m glad you’re not finding it boring! I wish I didn’t, but I do. You really don’t need to keep explaining why the author is including these chapters, I’m here with you reading the same story you are
