I think the older brother was sacrificing Minjae to protect the younger brother. He would somehow put him in a position to get raped (and maybe he himself was a victim, too) so that the old man's toy be Minjae instead of the younger bro who the older one is potentially interested in. It's just a guess though

I don't think they specified it or I might have missed it. But in chapter 12 the older bro mentions how Minjae was more interested in the younger bro than him in the past even though he used to look down on him. I do smell jealousy, either romantic or psychotic obsession.

He triggered a condition that makes the killer appear. Saying, "I will come back" and walkaway alone. Killer would appear regardless what part of they are in the game. The game starts the in the van and the momoment they arrived in the location of the first house.
