I can definitely see in the future the inevitable switch of Brett’s and Hayden’s personalities in a sense where Brett is going to mess up someway somehow and finally break which will lead Hayden into shaping up into the instinctual “real” alpha male he is, calculating revenge the same way Brett did. We can already see it with his upfrontness and assertiveness with this seasons rut and the home sex scene. Same thing with Brett, his eyes have been really emphasized this season and I can’t wait to see those dead cold things shine a little with Hayden around (put some brown contacts on geez). I also find the hunting motif interesting but I can’t personally infer what that could possibly mean. The painting that keeps popping up is interesting as well, I wonder what it could represent.
Also, I actually think Hayden might not entirely fully crash out once he finds out the whole ordeal with Brett. At this point I think he’s used to Brett’s schemes (as seen with this seasons rut) and I personally think he might do things “Brett’s way” or at least know that there’s some sort of other motive (even if he might not think that at the time of first knowing, I think it would be a little time after). I do definitely think he’s gonna go berserk but not in a typical fashion. I just want to see Hayden be manipulative and sneaky lmao but I can also see how it could be OOC, but hey that’s just a theory, a yaoi theory
“That’s the only thing I could do” this author wants me DEAD in a DITCH MY BABY BRETT basically while he was getting raped, Brett’s coping mechanism was to memorize the characteristics of his attackers. Yeah, is it aligned to his personality and probably predicted this was gonna happen? Yeah, but idk the look in his eyes seemed to dull recalling it it made me so sad I love love LOVE how the author included Brett getting a rape kit, I’ve never seen that happen ever in a manhwa, again ik it’s for Brett’s master plan or what ever but it’s refreshing to see a realistic way of the aftermath of rape yk. My poor baby doesn’t deserve this idc . His fit at the end was fire though, and Hayden was soooo cuteeee Brett give some leeway to my lover boy please.

Not me not knowing what a rape kit was until now. Please tell me that this is common knowledge(at least in the first world where I’m from) and it’s just me who wasn’t paying attention in sex ed or self-defence class.
I watch a lot of true crime as well as crime dramas so rape kits do get mentioned . I don’t remember learning about them in school.
yea i appreciate the realistic portrayal too. you can tell here that the assault occurred for plot purposes and not bc the author has a rape kink (which...a lot of these bl manhwa artists have that) so there isn't a voyeuristic quality to the whole thing
it's itneresting bc the author deals very explicitely with non-consent/consensual non-consent and blurry boundaries in this ABO verse as something that can be sexy but also transgressive and grey - but she clearly has given a lot of thought to the topic and can distinguish. i'm such a huge fan of this author!
His reaction reminds me of a case I saw once on one of the true crime shows I watch and this 12-13 year old girl was abducted from her church’s parking lot, raped and dropped back in that same parking lot and when police found her they initially didn’t believe her because she was so calm when recounting what happened to her.
I absolutely love this about the story in particular. It doesnt waste it's time on unnecessary toxicity, but it makes its point without needing to put focus on things like Brett being raped. It happened, but the author doesnt make it a focus, but a tool to move the plot along.
I am worried about his mental state though. I realize he's a strong and calculating person, but I am worried that something happens later on that pushes him on the brink of mentally breaking. However, I think this characteristic of Brett is also used by the author to show that he really only shows emotions when it pertains to Hayden. As you recall, when Brett saw Hayden's bloody body being shown on TV.

She’s so masterful with it, the nuances that come with ABO that are never explored but are here, this really is a diamond in the rough. She really could’ve included it, *some* ppl wouldn’t mind it espc with the themes and scenes that have already happened in this manhwa, but the way she didn’t proves that every. Single. Scene. Isn’t designed to get some fucked up fanservice and dip but to create a compelling psychological insight to omegaverse. Rape culture and toxic masculinity is already such a big problem that everyone faces in the present, so it’s amazing that an author would choose to explore those themes within ABO and how that could affect society and people. I’m surprised it hasn’t been done moreso. It’s honestly such a compelling universe to explore past the mpreg and breeding kinks lmao
