I haven’t been reading it bc I’m waiting for the season/flashback to end, but I’m sooo excited to read it in chronological order season 2, 1, then 3, I think it would read pretty interestingly (mostly bc I’ve forgotten a large part of the 1st season )

This chapter is sooo interesting and the continued use of symbolism is just so good. Again with the alcohol and Brett association, the liquor has gotten even harder now. Stronger liquor = stronger feelings? Or maybe it’s how intense their relationship is getting, especially after that rut. Also the whole bet with the hiccups feels like a callback to the said rut the way it really didn’t go Brett’s way, but in the end he still won. (Lowkey can also be some sort of dramatic irony considering the raws…

Brett is this chapter really shows simply how calculating he is, like I honestly just love that he’s using all this intelligence to keep Hayden with him LOL. Also him saying he has standards and that’s why he choose Hayden, gmfu bc yeah even if the way both Hayden and Nathan kind of hide their “true desires”, Hayden still practices a sort of “nice guy” act and some sort of loyalty to the ppl he’s close with, while Nathan kind of just tries to compensate that feeling by abusing others. Hayden give yourself some more credit your nice guy act still means you act nice to others lol
Also also, how hayden mentioned this whole meetup even did happen bc he choose to, shows how it’s not just Brett’s manipulation that let their relationship continue, but Hayden’s conscious choice. I kinda take back with what I said with Brett having the reigns of the relationship bc it’s honestly Hayden who rlly gets to say he wants to go back. This part also feels like a callback to like chapter 7 or smtn when their setting up their relationship.
But honestly, Brett saying he is the happiest with Hayden melted my heart so Hayden PLEASE SEE THIS MAN THROUGHHHH. Even though Hayden lacks the initiative to commit to the relationship (ie the ignored text messages), Brett still tries to connect with him. Making shit as optimal as possible so he can get Hayden to stay
Lastly, the bond but I think that’s going to be more interesting/explain next chapter so I’ll leave the analyzing to future me lololol. This comments long enough LOL
I think the hiccups also symbolize the awakening/development of Hayden's feelings for Brett, as well as the alcohol? It sounds cheesy, but both times Hayden hiccuped when he noticed a change in his feelings for Brett, like at the charity party or when he noticed an abnormality with his pheromone sensing, and the times he drank alcohol but didn't hiccup were when he used alcohol to deny reality
I think Hayden sobbed because he was really scared, because Brett talked about Scott releasing pheromones (that is, Brett was smelling Scott) and Hayden wasn't smelling it. Which shows that he's having trouble identifying omega pheromones. This is reinforced when he asks about the brand at the end. In other words: it doesn't feel omega pheromones because it is marked in some way.

I’ve been on this site for a while so iirc this used to be way up on the Yaoi popularity page back then and just kind of passing by wondered “where did it go?” When I went on there. I just thought it was bc ppl started to rate it low or smtn but it’s just the Yaoi tag got removed but I’m not complaining it’s just interesting to see the change of what genre it’s considered to be. I do think this kind fits the story better though
Small detail that makes me LOVE the artist more, if you compare Hayden’s physique in the start of the story to the latest rut chapter, you can actually see Hayden get more muscles! It’s very subtle but there is a change!! I wish I could put photos in mangago but i swear there’s a change I’m not crazy! But we can see that Brett’s training really did work out, even if it did mean he was absolutely brutalized in chapter 21
Yes!!! I also appreciate that Brett's physique didnt change, especially since he's an athlete. There are scenes where he's got a bit of curve in his waist, but not "twinkified" by any means, which seems to be a prevalent issue in a lot of yaoi
Novel tidbits if y’all interested:
The whole restaurant scene was much more stealthy than what was displayed and much more build up imo. Also smtn that just rlly frustrated me was sixx going for the jugular when attacking those men. In the novel it’s actually a very poignant topic where sixx has to battle his morals and the fact he wants to stay in the freaking mafia for malone. In there he makes sure to NOT kill the guys and only maims them. Idk why they would just let sixx kill guys in the beginning bc this is like a major character development plot point (but then again this manhwa is already a mess and a half I have no more expectations). Espc for a scene later on //SPOILERS
I dont remember clearly but there was a threat to Malone at that time and sixx has to choice himself whether or not he was going to kill the man despite being at that place with his family and daughter. His internal monologue was going THROUGHH it, thinking whether or not he’s worth anything to Malone and feeling like he needs to kill to prove that. Fortunately, malone gets there on time and sixx doesn’t kill him (that might be wrong bc I read the mtl ver before the other trans came out) but it shows six’s dedication but also morals when it comes to being with Malone. I liked how even through he is a vicious werewolf, he still doesn’t like hurting people. Idk I just rlly liked that scene, a shame a shame

Yup! Now that he’s older he has full control over his form (which changes waaaayyy later on in the novel but that’s like after all this mafia drama is basically settled), iirc he is conscious when he’s in wolf form so his thoughts are the exact same as when he’s human, so it’s bizarre why he’s acting this way other than “being protective of Malone” (girl you still have morals it was very much a big point that he DIDNT become corrupted in the novel)
