I think every author makes their own rules around the basic, common ones. Like, I read a manga where the omega was bitten and bonded with a playboy alpha, who wanted multiple omegas but could support him, and yet later married his beta childhood friend and they had a kid. Or, in Love Is An Illusion, they bonded through emotional closeness instead of the bite. And in some stories bonded omega's body phisically rejects other alphas and sometimes betas, in others their scents change and is unappealing to alphas beside their bond partner .
