I love that Seonwoo’s parents are so loving and supportive, these are the parents that every child deserves.
I also that they’re feeding Taemoon peeled apples while Seonwoo’s father is giving his speech because Asian parents don’t always verbally express their love to their children but giving their kids food is a way that they show love even if they don’t verbally express it, so Seonwoo’s father both saying it and giving Taemoon sliced fruit is like giving him twice the love.
Korea, like every country in the world, still has a long way to go when it comes to equal rights for LGBTQAI+ people, but there are organizations like PFLAG Korea (Parents, Families and Allies of LGBTAIQ+ People in Korea) that exist so there are families out there that support their queer children.
I do think therapy could help people, but I think we need to stop talking about therapy like it’s a magic cure-all. Skylar is currently in therapy and on meds and he’s still struggling with his mental health. This line of thought is especially dangerous in Korea because conversion therapy is legal and there’s homophobic politicians who are advocating for conversion therapy. Not all therapists are good therapists and some can cause more harm than good. This is why I would always recommend that you change therapists or treatments if you find that they’re not helping you.
It’s really hard to take tiny fuzzy furballs in their little outfits seriously. The way the artist draws rabbits is so cute. Some of the nobility in the rabbit kingdom could be saying the most heinous shit to Neungsoo and in the back of my head, I’m thinking “You could just kick them, they’re less than a third of your size” (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I think it’s really easy to underestimate how much cheating and being with someone emotionally distant can damage your self-esteem and self-worth. Yuki is kind, charming and handsome, he could probably get any gay/bi guy he wanted, yet he chooses to go after another emotionally unavailable cheater who compares him to women ugh. He deserves better, but I get it’s hard to love himself at this moment and know that he deserves better.
I thought the art style looked familiar, and I looked it up and it’s by Nishimoto Rou (professional mangaka name). I’ve read Twilight by her before and her art is just always so beautiful and emotional (angsty). I’ve never even read Haikyuu but this oneshot made me feel things about the pain of their separation.
