So he easily kills like 10 bandits without breaking a sweat, and the rest run away, after he kills another four, the last ones think "Hey, we can kill him, we're more than him", how stupid is that? There are no words to describe the amount of stupidity associated with their reaction. You were running away, and because he killed even more you assume you can kill him?? Even animals are more intelligent than that, they know damn well that if something is stronger, the best they can do is either run or cower in fear hoping that they will be left alone.
I see it more as them realizing that they won't be able to run away, and trying to talk some courage into themselves. A desperate struggle to try to stay alive, rather than getting killed while fleeing.
Yeah, I get it that. But it's the way it was phrased, rather than say "Let's go out swinging", they simply said "if we group up, we can kill him"....now that we're less than before, and it clearly didn't work the first time.
They are afraid of dying, and "let's go out swinging" is still admitting they will die. They don't want to do that. But I guess if you see it that way I won't be able to convince you otherwise. :P
Nah, I get it, they're trying to convince themselves that they'll make it by saying they'll win. But it's still a bit silly for the context, I mean it was literally from one page to another. I didn't expect them to switch emotions so quickly, and just go back to fighting mode in the blink of an eye.
Yea true... I do agree with you that a lot of the baddies are pretty stupid in this and many other wuxia manhua. But I understand why they tried to fight back in such a manner.
I doubt the author would make a manga with a title like this if he didn't intend for the MC to evolve limitlessly. So I think with a skill like this he'll be able to heat the air around him to such an extent that other people would either burn or melt from it, completely melt or disentegrate structures, etc. At least that's what I would imagine is possible with a "Thermal" skill.
yeah, he's def gonna get a lot more powerfull through "hard work" or smn and the entire manga will just be another adolecent story about managing school personal life and training his superpower, or he might just get some sort of boost or smn and become op right away who knows manga's are changing it up a bit nowadays

I only had to read the title to know this. Thermal Operator. As in he's in control of temperature... With such a vague title it's pretty much one of the most powerful abilities you can get if you train and power it up. As both close to absolute zero (literally anything and everything freezes solid) to supernova (so hot it disintegrates anything and everything) would be in his grasp.
Maybe the author won't go that far, but you can see that yea...his ability is definitely level 5+, even if it starts out weak.
Not exactly Baki himself, but the main villain with his obsession of fighting an opponent that can "satisfy" him, and having an appreciation for male bodies kind of reminded me of Shinogi Kureha before he lost to Baki....now every time I read his lines I can picture Kureha's voice actor saying them, it fits well.
So they decided to make him a baron, he didn't swear loyalty to the queen, at least we didn't see it here. They gave him land, althought it's apparently one that must be filled with turmoil, but he is the one who has proved he can turn an unfavorable situation into a great victory. Giving him power over a large land, being able to amass an army of his own, and considering how powerful he is...what makes them think he won't take this to heart, and conquer the kingdom all the same? He clearly knows he was screwed over, if he resents them, now he has the perfect chance to grow, and completely overpower them. Great plan guys.

It's at this point that I'm reminded why I find Manwha with those protagonists that use cultivation a bit more realistic. If someone means you physical harm, and is bullying in a world where it's do or die. I don't see why they don't utterly defeat them, oppose them or in some cases that are necessary outright kill them like the protagonists I mentioned. It's much more believable than someone being pushed every day, and not budging at all...
I really hope that he keeps growing in strength, and one day he'll be able to kill that shitty goddess himself.
I mean....if he has as much mana as the goddess, he can create an entire realm out of nothing, and he can basically do any spell as long as he imagines it. Shouldn't he be able to change his appearance at will? In fact, a simple remedy would be an ulra powerful illusion spell, where he has it constantly on, and anyone who looks at him perceives him as a better looking guy. He has the mana of a god, I'm pretty sure a spell like that could be sustained no matter what.
It can also be that for.some.reason his looks are locked and he cannot change them!!!

He may have mana equal to gods, but he's still human... Gods and Goddesses are divine beings, basically, they don't have any physical forms (unless they make one of course) which is why they cant turn into anything... MC's purely human with mana like gods, basically, he's a demigod.

Yeah, but the goddess is able to change a human's appearance, she did so with the other hero. That's why I asked if he tried, and why didn't he? Since he wanted to talk with humans, I was expecting him to try, but I guess that if he doesn't know about it, he probably never figured it out.
I just think at first when he decided to wear a mask, he was unable to speak the language and looked different... which would make him alienated and marked as a demi.. but now alot of people know him so there is no need to keep wearing the mask..
And I think somewhere in the novel he stated that he is proud "kinda" of his looks as he was just average in Japan and that it's just the world of the goddess has strange standards and not to forget only humans regarded him as hideous ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ I respect him for that
Saw this comment again after reading the latest chapters. Yeah, he might be proud of how he looks because of his heritage, and I like to think that it's his own way of telling the goddess that he won't change to suit her world's standards

Whenever Yami appeared you knew he'd never lose because he's a badass who's always playing 6D chess against his opponents. But the MC here is constantly in that state so basically I don't see how he'll lose to anyone, it doesn't stop being cool, and awesome though.
