My interest and support for the main couple is toast. Like am I really supposed to think the male lead is somehow better than the backstabbing murderer Khalid, or the rapist crown prince, when he himself is murdering innocent women AND CHILDREN without a shred of remorse?
Nah, no way I can root for a child killer to have a happily ever after.
Anika and Alphonse are the scheming power couple that I didn’t know I needed. I hope they’ll appear together more often in the story.
