Honestly, it won't even need high IQ to understand shit. Why didn't it occur to her atleast ONCE that the duke might have been framed? The reason he's a prime suspect was bc they're TOGETHER. The duke is not that stupid to kill an imperial princess knowing that he'd be subjected to prison. In the first place, the princess had many enemies bc of her behaviour so why didn't it cross her mind that she might be assassinated by her siblings or empress since she's hated by them? Also if the author wanted to go that route of she wasn’t actually a legally practicing lawyer/judge and have her make dumb mistakes they could of had her be a crime junkie and have her studied the law in her free time and then those oversights would make sense because it’s to far fetched otherwise.

And you yourself said it yourself no sane lawyer or investigator would use what the first suspect handed to you and how circumstantial it is than wtf is she like a dumb ass. And it’s taken her way to long to get to that point as well.

Btw I say lawyer as well because you can’t become a judge without first practicing a lawyer so she actually has first hand experience at putting away guilty criminals or non guilty criminals so she should know how circumstantial the situation was in the beginning and there was litttle evidence pointing towards the ml there was. As well as the fact that if he did do it that person would of been dumb as hell for how it was done and the ml isn’t dumb never mind he can’t stand the smell of blood another dead give away.

And who the fck says that the culprit can't be the first suspect the novel gave you??? I've watch some that the first suspect is actually the culprit the author was just mis leading them for a while.

And besides it's a romance novel so the story wouldn't focus in the crime but their love anyways.

So he’s an asshole no one is denying that but that doesn’t make someone a murder if you watch true crime shows or even shows like law and order you’ll know that someone can be the biggest asshole, have anger issues but suspect why because the evidence doesn’t point to them and there’s nothing you can do about that. And that’s what everyone is complaining about because as much of a shitty dude he is, he can’t be her only suspect for that reason alone especially when you’re dealing with murder.

6. WTFDYM she's not canonically smart? There's literally a chapter where she asked for tons of books and claimed herself that "studying is as easy as breathing to her". She said that with her own damn mouth. That means she's smart bruh have you never touched a dictionary your entire effin life? A lot of people is studious but not smart because it takes them lots of trials and error. But Charlotte doesn't have a hard time studying because again, it's as easy as breathing to her which literally means she's a natural smart.
