Nope it's actually the opposite. Karas had a feeling Lil is Abel's reincarnation which explains his behavior being jealous of Sir Ashler. It's actually a bit fleshed out in the novel that Abel called him 'Your highness' as a reply to Captain Commander calling him 'Apel' or 'Eppel', and Abel knowing it was only the prince who calls him that. Though he couldn't see that it was Captain Commander because his vision's blurry at that time and assumed it was the prince, not Captain Commander. Abel still has no idea since everyone around him hides the truth from him.
