I'm really digging this new dynamic of Shinpei and Kotaro. Kotaro was so smug that he knows Satoko better and that Shinpei's jealous of him lol. We also see him acting like a responsible adult who has to handle and teach Shinpei. It was so fun. I'm so happy with Kotaro's character now my feelings have changed from dislike to like. I also just really like Asagiri. Honestly she's more like the kind of female character I like than Satoko, Satoko's good obviously, but Asagiri's looks and personality are more to my tastes. I'm also excited about her relationship with Mitsueda.
Just saw someone hoping it's verse I know it's just only one person so far but why the hell is it that when the bottom is buff/muscular they want the couple to be verse/switch? I've never seen anyone hoping for this when the bottom is a twink but whenever the bottom is not a twink they suddenly want him to top. I hate it. There's always atleast one person with verse/switch preference when the bottom is not a twink.
There's literally thousands of stories like that can you people please leave the few that cater to my tastes alone? I always wanna see a muscular man get wrecked but whether it be a tv show, movie, fanfiction, comic etc anything, the slighter/feminine looking guy is always somehow the bottom it's so frustrating and now when there's some few manga/manhwa with muscular bottoms they want to take that away as well. I don't wanna gatekeep but seriously fuck off. No need to ruin the mood.
Aren’t they both buff? No matter who bottoms wouldn’t it be fine? Also I’m a proponent of all size switches, it’s more true to life cause most people are strictly either. We need more stud couples, twink tops, and muscular bottoms. If you want I can give you some recommendations for beefy bottoms tho
Yeah I know they're both buff in this case my bad I just saw the comment and took out my frustration because the same thing has happened in the comments of so many manga/manhwa like this that I got irritated. About your point regarding real life, it isn't necessarily true that gay couples are mainly verse, they also have preferences and also this is fiction I'm not here to read a realistic portrayal of gay sex. Bl is not the place for that anyway. If I wanted that I'd read books by gay men.
Also, thank you for your offer of recommendations. I'm pretty good at finding manga/manhwa that are suited to my preferences. But If you have any recommendations for books or fanfiction, where the buff guy is bottom, I'd be happy to have those recs.
If you can find it yourself there’s not much I can help you with. Though I will say it is statistically true that most gay and bisexual men are verse. Yes there are preferences (many leans towards preferring one over the other) and I never said all were but most never meant all. I just said I like verses cause it matches my experience as a gay men to I gravitate towards stories that include it. What I will say is because you’re looking at media created by women for women you will see most fem presenting people as bottoms and authors don’t want to make stories like the ones you like because it’s not marketable to most female yaoi readers, your preferences actually sound like they align more with bara or yaoi created by men.
It’s just that you don’t really communicate that you do. You say you don’t read Bl by gay men because youre not here for a realistic portrayal of gay relationships but your preferences align with bara. You even tried to refute my point about switches but why? I wasn’t wrong and you just came across like you didn’t believe a majority of gay men are switches. I have no idea where you’re train of thought is heading so I’ll just leave the conversation with that.
Okay what the hell do you want? I never said I don't read bl by men? Are you trying to pick a fight with me? Refute your point? I just pointed out that what you were claiming is true isn't the whole picture. Whether majority of gay men are verse or not has nothing to do with what I want to see in fiction. I've read bara, I've read bl by men what are trying to prove? I don't have any fucking problem with finding things to read I enjoy. My problem is that what I like doesn't have much content. And when I finally get a buff bottom there are always people who want him to top. It's irritating to see How many times do I have to repeat myself? It's simple to understand. I don't need to communicate to an internet stranger about what I know, what I like or what I've read especially not someone as bullheaded as you. You somehow twisted my original point and came to a conclusion you made up yourself about me.
I had a feeling this would happen and It turns out I was right. This is what a friend should do to help their friend and not taking them away by force, making decisions for them and stripping them of their choice and freedom. Good for him that he realized his mistake.
This is exactly the kind of development I wanted for Kotaro. Thank you Kotaro for not turning out like the other 2nd mls.
All of the people reminding of ch 1 yeah we know we're not stupid but that doesnt make Hyunwoo innocent. He's an asshole to Eunsung. He was so fucking dismissive and patronizing to Eunsung. Lying and trying to cheat on top of that. Let's call a spade a spade his behaviour is bad. Yeah Eunsung is manipulative and obsessive but Hyunwoo is an awful boyfriend. Why should readers ignore his bad behaviour? They can both be awful people. I just don't understand why some people are so restrictive in their criticism and only want to call out Eunsung as if Hyunwoo isn't just as bad. Their relationship is a trainwreck but it's both their faults. Hyunwoo isn't an innocent angel.
Love how everyone in the comments just does not care for the other guy like yeah dude no matter what you say about her happiness you're only doing this because you can't get her. If he really cared about her happiness like he said, he would help them even if he loves her. I've hated kotaro from the start, didn't help that I also really hate the friends to lovers and the bodyguard-mistress tropes. I'm more worried about Satoko's dad, dude seems like an asshole. He's so obsessed with marrying off Satoko and also passed on that obsession to her. I know it's the time period but still. Anyway I want my man Shinpei back. Didn't see him all chapter. Beat Kotaro's ass and save Satoko, Shinpei!
I swear to god why are there so many idiots in the comments? Do you idiots not know what enemies to lovers means? Why are you reading a work like that then? Of fucking course it's gonna be problematic. Whining about the puppeteer as if he isn't the reason the knight is alive? Saying he raped the knight when he had agreed to be his slave. Don't know what a master-slave dynamic entails? Of course there's gonna be consent issues and the knight was the one who proposed this idea to an ENEMY, he knew what to expect but the crybabies commenting and giving low stars to this manga certainly don't so why not save yourself the time and read some boring unproblematic fluffy work instead. You may not like this work bc of many reasons but people complaining about the problematic aspects and the puppeteer are dumb. This just goes to show their level of intelligence and understanding. I'm sincerely asking you not to read a problematic work and then cry it's problematic. Some of us like reading works with things like- toxic and abusive relationships, incest, age gap, power dynamics, dubious consent etc and works like this are for us. If you can't handle it no need to read it
Exactly like I just don't understand these people. They will deliberately seek out stories depicting problematic relationships and then curse it for being problematic. Wtf is wrong with them and the irritating thing is that they are so loud with their bs and moronic opinions. People who like such works can't enjoy them in peace. I detest these people and I really wish they'd stop invading like weeds.
My guy, I love enemies to lovers and problematic charas. This manga is just written terribly, and even if the characters and storytelling weren't weak, you can't deny that 5 chapters was not enough time to go from "I'm never going to be your doll because religion and you killed my friends by the barrel" to "I'll be your doll but now you're okay with humans and okay I'll be your knight babe"
At least first read what I've written then reply yeah? I don't think it's all that good myself. The characters are shallow and yeah it's way too short. I agree completely. My problem is with people who think enemies to lovers is gonna be all sunshine and rainbows. I'm talking about people who are saying the puppeteer is shit because he wants to make the knight his doll, makes him his slave and then raped him(which is untrue btw). Like what the fuck did they expect from such a trope? That the puppeteer would treat a knight from an enemy kingdom with dignity and love right off the bat? That the knight would fall in love with the puppeteer at first sight for saving him? That they're not gonna treat each other terribly? They forget that the knight himself offered to be a SEX SLAVE, do those idiots not know what a fucking sex slave is? & When he's treated like a sex slave by Chris they say it's rape. This situation is unique because the knight knew what's gonna happen to him if he chooses to be sex slave and yeah it's not much of a choice when the other option is death but he specifically said sex slave. It's dubious consent. Frankly I don't even consider this work to even be a good enemies to lovers story, there's no tension, no drama, they don't try to kill each other, the knight acquiesces too easily and the puppeteer falls in love too fast. But read what I've actually said about this story before saying anything to me. People who can't handle these subject matters should not say works like this are shit because of the problematic subject itself. And yes those who do are idiots with no braincells.
Dude it literally is rape there's nothing dubious about it lol if your options are die (or in this case become what you consider to be a godless abomination?) or sex and you choose the latter, that's coercion, not consent, and it's not even a grey area
My point is though that you're assuming these people hate problematic stories in general, but most of the comments I see are hoping that the puppeteer dies or suffers, which doesn't mean that they hate angst or enemies to lovers, it just means that the character has no likeable characteristics. Because it's written poorly.
Yea and for everything we say, they will agains ppl who enjoy it and usually will telling we are some sick psycho to enjoy those stories. Weird thing they also read it to the end just to bitching abt it . I feel like they new to yaoi world or smt wrong with them in RL . The older generation or more open one will think it's entertainment only and the ppl who agains it always relate it to reality and morality ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ . Sometime i confused bcs those ppl cannot differentiated between fiction and reality LOL. We know there will many kind of stories in BL and any others genre work. Its not rainbow and Sunshine. Let us ppl who like it enjoy in peace right (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
I guess we see things differently then because I don't count that as rape. And no the people whining definitely can't read problematic stories. This is not the first instance where this has happened. I mostly read problematic stories because sweet romance gives me the hives and this is the case in every single one of them. People will read an age gap and whine why the mc is choosing to be with the person who's very old/younger than them, same with incest etc. They will read a story where the ml/fl is abusive and/or toxic and whine that the mc should leave him/her when it's almost always clear that this is a PROBLEMATIC ROMANCE and they're going to end up together. I detest these people, they're stupid. In this story, in the 1st ch mc offers to become ml's sex slave. If they're uncomfortable with a master-slave relationship they shouldn't have read any further. Of fucking course there's gonna be rape in such stories. And it's a romance so of fucking course they're still going to end up together. I'm not saying this story is very good or anything it's not. I've said this in some comment or reply but I'll repeat it again- the characters are shallow and have no depth, they're both written poorly, the story is too short, the romance development is abrupt & doesn't make any sense, there's not even any of the delicious tension, drama or attempted murder attempts that I expect from such stories etc. See, this is criticism and not waaah ml raped mc so ml bad so ml should die/suffer but he didn't so story bad. Oh and mc deserves better
Here's the rest of my answer-
This mc is so uninteresting I don't know why these people like him so much that they're wishing suffering on a FICTIONAL character lmao. So if you crybabies can't handle a fictional master-slave relationship where wonder of wonders the master forces his sex slave to have sex with him(yk the whole point of a sex slave) then no need to read it. It's like going to watch a slasher movie and then complaining that characters get brutally killed, idiots. 'No likeable characteristics' yk what kind of characters don't have any of those and are sometimes even irredeemable and have committed several crimes or atrocities but are still popular and people love them- Villains, so your argument doesn't make sense. Also in this particular story, I don't see a single person having a problem with the fact that Chris sacrificed countless SOULS and also that the knight didn't say anything to that. Even knowing how despicable Chris is to sacrifice so many souls he's not angry at him at all, means he's not so pure after all & these Puritans only have problem with the rape and not the sacrificing souls thing. Ever wonder why?
Don't reply to this comment I won't respond. I've had enough of dealing with stupid puritans for a while
Guys please stop misusing serious terms like pedophile. A pedophile is someone who's sexually attracted to prepubescent children. It's a psychiatric disorder. In fact, majority of child molestors aren't even pedophiles at all. And many pedophiles don't commit csa.
Here, the mc is post pubescent and the ml has not shown any kind sexual attraction to a prepubescent child, he didn't even know the mc was underage when he targeted him so he's not a pedophile. Stop calling him that.
To give an example** MAJOR CHAINSAW MAN PART 1 SPOILERS** Read at your own risk
{Start spoiler}
Makima sexually abuses Denji and offers him sexual favours in return for doing her bidding but she's not a pedophile. And even the fandom agrees on this. She's a groomer and yes she did sexually abuse Denji but that doesn't make her a pedophile.
{End spoiler}
An underage character/adult character relationship is not pedophilia, you're conflating underage with prepubescent. I understand why it makes some people uncomfortable but this constant misuse of terms like 'pedophile' trivializes the real, horrific problems.
Funny enough this made me do some research & while I'm still struggling with the difference I kinda see it although I don't believe that people who were throwing around pedo meant for it as an excuse/because "16" got some mental health issues. While the term is misused and should be rectified (thank you for explaining), the meaning behind how I thought/used it was always: sex with an underaged minor (which I think based on some comments - they believed the same) which technically did happen (side story & real story)
The term I was actually looking for was statutory rape (however laws etcetc see below) - the crime of having sex with someone under age & at the minimum molesting of an underadged person (read the last few chapters - literally says "and sleep with him" with an image of my dude like... I'm sure you can interpret that)
One thing to make clear - there was some form of sexual (at least) touching & very super slap in the face implications of sleeping together/sex (bc sleeping together is usually another way of saying it)
Ppl cannot assume "16"'s process of targetting & hunting. The reason for this is because it is never explicitly stated or given a step by step therefore not a solid fighting point. He did stalk the guy, so there was a level of "knowing" that they aren't exactlty - not - in school (most likely highschool or middle school based on the fact that there are uniforms and the desk set up along with a gym shed type thing - can do your own research but this isn't typically seen in universities) hence the predatory vibes (literal and law wise) since he didn't back off after knowing this & engaged in sexual stuff even if that wasn't the main goal (don't know if it was going to be a rape then kill or kill then rape or just kill - sociopaths are a wild card). One can make that assumption because dude literally took his identification card with probably the birth date and all he would have likely & I mean y'all saw that wall...
- Side notes: This may not apply in the case of the story because it is speculation (hence no real grounds) but some killers are slick with it especially when targetting victims. People who are often easily forgotten (ie. those who are homeless because they aren't usually missed and no one would normally report them going missing - generally people who are already isolated) which is seen in the case of the MC (I'm sure you can do your research here). Additionally, he was an easy target (but that's imo - I mean isolation and possible mental health issues could contribute to whether or not yk... you're a desirable target). Basically, I'm saying that he coulda stalked MC before he even got into contact with him (also consider how they met) & known (heavy spec) his age
NOW for laws. In Western society bells be ringing, court be courting, and jail looking like 100% here. However, since this is probably set in China (I'm just using MC's name as a base - I realize that dude could be from china but in US or whatever but like set up, stores, school = east asia probably) the age of consent is 14 (depends - but lower than where I'm at). HOWEVER, I didn't dig deep, butttt minors are considered anyone 18 under (most likely my boy over there) so that is something to consider. While he could be 18 (senior year) that should have been stated explicitly because as much as we like to say "stop making a kid outta this person - so what if they look young" in cases like this where MC built like that it is hard to not drift towards: highschool... small guy... looking like a child... oh fuck... & while people are able to be like "dude probably 18+ I ain't gonna let it bother me" it isn't hard to believe ppl were struggling with that one. Why let room for speculation when you don't have to?
You are right though on the last part - a 15 (for ex) year old with a 21 year old (relationship) is not exactly considered pedo activity/illegal HOWEVER they cannot (where I'm at anyways) engage lawfully in sexual intercourse
^ That relation could also be considered grooming though as well so...
That's the end of the rant
No I am not a hermit who has the time for this - just procrastinating asf
First, thank you for engaging with my comment in good faith. It's so rare like whenever I've replied to anyone's comment objecting that the ml is not a pedophile, I've gotten attacked, been accused of being a pedophile, been called a creep, and that I enjoy cp and what not. Tbh I was dreading your comment would be something along those lines. I'm happy it's not.
While I agree with you on many points my original comment was only to clear the misunderstanding people have about pedophilia and pedophiles. These terms have become so overused their meaning has become far removed from their actual definition. I'm sorry if you wanted an in-depth discussion but I'm very tired so that won't be possible. About the side story tho, it's ambiguous because mc is a vampire in it so we don't know his real age. I think it'd be funny if he was the older one in that au tho lol.
Thanks for the comment. With all the negative reactions and personal attacks on my character I'm glad there was atleast one person who decided to react like a decent human.
I don't think anyone clairifying terms in the "benefit" (or along those lines) for others should be then attacked & I prefer (even though I am/can be) to be non judgemental esp online cuz we never get the full picture. Clarifying is not the same as defending (crazy, I know LMAO).
I can definetly agree on the misuse/overuse of the term. I don't think people really learn things like "statutory rape" or other law ish terms and use one thing to generalize all cases, which isn't great, but if you lack the time and the effort to do research I can't blame them. I'm glad though that I got to learn something HAHA. (unfortunately a lotta words are getting misused but thats the shitty world we living in-)
As for the ambiguity, I don't know if you read ch12 but that would be a good start. It is part of the main storyline and there are strong implications. "16" at least gave MC a handjob, like at the minimum & as I quoted, there was a scene with MC on his back covered in fluid saying something along the lines of "and sleeping with him". If this was the innocent type, I would think they would be cuddled under the covers actually sleeping, not looking like they ran a marathon . (Additionally he says something about having to miss school, etc, and other very yeehaw poses). But I agree on the vampire one, MC probably the creeper in that (being probably hundreds of yrs old LMAO)
I don't think a fair & logical argument should be met with whackass attacks of character. If someone wants to defend a point, yacking "oh u must support this behaviour" is wild and not productive. Of course, it's a bad defensive tactic, but it's usually done because they are either uneducated & have nothing else to say or yk... keyboard warriors who think they stopping cp by attacking (the wrong) people. It's not hard to see who the real problematic ppl are, but everyone likes to loosly shoot away.
Yeah apparantly people like you are rare. Crazy times we're living in. I agree with everything you said. Like it's one thing to disagree, to remain ignorant and not learn, that doesn't affect me. But calling a stranger(especially online) something which is a disorder and diagnosed by doctors is another thing entirely. It's beyond rude and people's lives and careers have been destroyed over it. Not to mention throwing the word around carelessly makes it lose its meaning and other people who see it use also get misinformed and then use it incorrectly. They really didn't have to attack me. If they didn't like what I wrote, ignore it and move on, why be so vicious and mean online? There's a real person behind the screen who also has feelings. I'm confident enough in myself to not let these things bother me much except getting angry and irritated but not everyone's like this.
They think they're so morally superior that it makes them blind to their own faults and biases. No one is pure. And calling strangers pedophiles isn't helping the real children suffering from abuse. They can pretend all they like that they're good and right and label others bad but it's just a fantasy they're living in. Keyboard warriors is the right term for them.
Oh and my ambiguous statement was only about the vampire au in the Halloween and Christmas special episodes. There is nothing ambiguous in the main story lol.
