Funny enough this made me do some research & while I'm still struggling with the difference I kinda see it although I don't believe that people who were throwing around pedo meant for it as an excuse/because "16" got some mental health issues. While the term is misused and should be rectified (thank you for explaining), the meaning behind how I thought/used it was always: sex with an underaged minor (which I think based on some comments - they believed the same) which technically did happen (side story & real story)

The term I was actually looking for was statutory rape (however laws etcetc see below) - the crime of having sex with someone under age & at the minimum molesting of an underadged person (read the last few chapters - literally says "and sleep with him" with an image of my dude like... I'm sure you can interpret that)

One thing to make clear - there was some form of sexual (at least) touching & very super slap in the face implications of sleeping together/sex (bc sleeping together is usually another way of saying it)

Ppl cannot assume "16"'s process of targetting & hunting. The reason for this is because it is never explicitly stated or given a step by step therefore not a solid fighting point. He did stalk the guy, so there was a level of "knowing" that they aren't exactlty - not - in school (most likely highschool or middle school based on the fact that there are uniforms and the desk set up along with a gym shed type thing - can do your own research but this isn't typically seen in universities) hence the predatory vibes (literal and law wise) since he didn't back off after knowing this & engaged in sexual stuff even if that wasn't the main goal (don't know if it was going to be a rape then kill or kill then rape or just kill - sociopaths are a wild card). One can make that assumption because dude literally took his identification card with probably the birth date and all he would have likely & I mean y'all saw that wall...
- Side notes: This may not apply in the case of the story because it is speculation (hence no real grounds) but some killers are slick with it especially when targetting victims. People who are often easily forgotten (ie. those who are homeless because they aren't usually missed and no one would normally report them going missing - generally people who are already isolated) which is seen in the case of the MC (I'm sure you can do your research here). Additionally, he was an easy target (but that's imo - I mean isolation and possible mental health issues could contribute to whether or not yk... you're a desirable target). Basically, I'm saying that he coulda stalked MC before he even got into contact with him (also consider how they met) & known (heavy spec) his age


NOW for laws. In Western society bells be ringing, court be courting, and jail looking like 100% here. However, since this is probably set in China (I'm just using MC's name as a base - I realize that dude could be from china but in US or whatever but like set up, stores, school = east asia probably) the age of consent is 14 (depends - but lower than where I'm at). HOWEVER, I didn't dig deep, butttt minors are considered anyone 18 under (most likely my boy over there) so that is something to consider. While he could be 18 (senior year) that should have been stated explicitly because as much as we like to say "stop making a kid outta this person - so what if they look young" in cases like this where MC built like that it is hard to not drift towards: highschool... small guy... looking like a child... oh fuck... & while people are able to be like "dude probably 18+ I ain't gonna let it bother me" it isn't hard to believe ppl were struggling with that one. Why let room for speculation when you don't have to?

You are right though on the last part - a 15 (for ex) year old with a 21 year old (relationship) is not exactly considered pedo activity/illegal HOWEVER they cannot (where I'm at anyways) engage lawfully in sexual intercourse

While I agree with you on many points my original comment was only to clear the misunderstanding people have about pedophilia and pedophiles. These terms have become so overused their meaning has become far removed from their actual definition. I'm sorry if you wanted an in-depth discussion but I'm very tired so that won't be possible. About the side story tho, it's ambiguous because mc is a vampire in it so we don't know his real age. I think it'd be funny if he was the older one in that au tho lol.

Thanks for the comment. With all the negative reactions and personal attacks on my character I'm glad there was atleast one person who decided to react like a decent human.

I don't think anyone clairifying terms in the "benefit" (or along those lines) for others should be then attacked & I prefer (even though I am/can be) to be non judgemental esp online cuz we never get the full picture. Clarifying is not the same as defending (crazy, I know LMAO).

I can definetly agree on the misuse/overuse of the term. I don't think people really learn things like "statutory rape" or other law ish terms and use one thing to generalize all cases, which isn't great, but if you lack the time and the effort to do research I can't blame them. As for the ambiguity, I don't know if you read ch12 but that would be a good start. It is part of the main storyline and there are strong implications. "16" at least gave MC a handjob, like at the minimum & as I quoted, there was a scene with MC on his back covered in fluid saying something along the lines of "and sleeping with him". If this was the innocent type, I would think they would be cuddled under the covers actually sleeping, not looking like they ran a marathon . (Additionally he says something about having to miss school, etc, and other very yeehaw poses). But I agree on the vampire one, MC probably the creeper in that (being probably hundreds of yrs old LMAO)

I don't think a fair & logical argument should be met with whackass attacks of character. If someone wants to defend a point, yacking "oh u must support this behaviour" is wild and not productive. Yeah apparantly people like you are rare. Crazy times we're living in. I agree with everything you said. Like it's one thing to disagree, to remain ignorant and not learn, that doesn't affect me. But calling a stranger(especially online) something which is a disorder and diagnosed by doctors is another thing entirely. About your point regarding real life, it isn't necessarily true that gay couples are mainly verse, they also have preferences and also this is fiction I'm not here to read a realistic portrayal of gay sex. Bl is not the place for that anyway. If I wanted that I'd read books by gay men.

Also, thank you for your offer of recommendations. I'm pretty good at finding manga/manhwa that are suited to my preferences. But If you have any recommendations for books or fanfiction, where the buff guy is bottom, I'd be happy to have those recs.

Yes there are preferences (many leans towards preferring one over the other) and I never said all were but most never meant all. I just said I like verses cause it matches my experience as a gay men to I gravitate towards stories that include it. My guy, I love enemies to lovers and problematic charas. This manga is just written terribly, and even if the characters and storytelling weren't weak, you can't deny that 5 chapters was not enough time to go from "I'm never going to be your doll because religion and you killed my friends by the barrel" to "I'll be your doll but now you're okay with humans and okay I'll be your knight babe"

That the knight would fall in love with the puppeteer at first sight for saving him? That they're not gonna treat each other terribly? They forget that the knight himself offered to be a SEX SLAVE, do those idiots not know what a fucking sex slave is? & When he's treated like a sex slave by Chris they say it's rape. This situation is unique because the knight knew what's gonna happen to him if he chooses to be sex slave and yeah it's not much of a choice when the other option is death but he specifically said sex slave. It's dubious consent. Frankly I don't even consider this work to even be a good enemies to lovers story, there's no tension, no drama, they don't try to kill each other, the knight acquiesces too easily and the puppeteer falls in love too fast. But read what I've actually said about this story before saying anything to me. People who can't handle these subject matters should not say works like this are shit because of the problematic subject itself. And yes those who do are idiots with no braincells.

I guess we see things differently then because I don't count that as rape. And no the people whining definitely can't read problematic stories. This is not the first instance where this has happened. I mostly read problematic stories because sweet romance gives me the hives and this is the case in every single one of them. People will read an age gap and whine why the mc is choosing to be with the person who's very old/younger than them, same with incest etc. They will read a story where the ml/fl is abusive and/or toxic and whine that the mc should leave him/her when it's almost always clear that this is a PROBLEMATIC ROMANCE and they're going to end up together. I detest these people, they're stupid. In this story, in the 1st ch mc offers to become ml's sex slave. If they're uncomfortable with a master-slave relationship they shouldn't have read any further. Of fucking course there's gonna be rape in such stories. And it's a romance so of fucking course they're still going to end up together. I'm not saying this story is very good or anything it's not. I've said this in some comment or reply but I'll repeat it again- the characters are shallow and have no depth, they're both written poorly, the story is too short, the romance development is abrupt & doesn't make any sense, there's not even any of the delicious tension, drama or attempted murder attempts that I expect from such stories etc. See, this is criticism and not waaah ml raped mc so ml bad so ml should die/suffer but he didn't so story bad. This mc is so uninteresting I don't know why these people like him so much that they're wishing suffering on a FICTIONAL character lmao. So if you crybabies can't handle a fictional master-slave relationship where wonder of wonders the master forces his sex slave to have sex with him(yk the whole point of a sex slave) then no need to read it. It's like going to watch a slasher movie and then complaining that characters get brutally killed, idiots. 'No likeable characteristics' yk what kind of characters don't have any of those and are sometimes even irredeemable and have committed several crimes or atrocities but are still popular and people love them- Villains, so your argument doesn't make sense. Also in this particular story, I don't see a single person having a problem with the fact that Chris sacrificed countless SOULS and also that the knight didn't say anything to that. Even knowing how despicable Chris is to sacrifice so many souls he's not angry at him at all, means he's not so pure after all & these Puritans only have problem with the rape and not the sacrificing souls thing. Ever wonder why?
