The term you're looking for is statutory rape since the ml also hasn't shown any sexual attraction to post pubescent children (because if he had he'd have also thought about having sex with him but he only thought of killing him). He changed his tactics only when he realized simply killing mc isn't "fun". So it can't be ephebophila. Also child predators aren't always sexually attracted to children or minors, most of the times it's a form of violence or to exert dominance and/or control over their victim which is most likely the case here. I also think ml is grooming the mc towards a purpose so that it'd be more "fun" to kill him later.
