Gold Mine's Manga

Started reading on Feb 5 around 1-2 a.m., finished Feb 9 7:00 a.m.
I love this so much, it's just the sweetest thing ever. I just finished reading all available chapters up to 82. I first found this when I was searching for something to read afterwards since I was nearing the end of Green Apple Paradise, and I found this on mggo comedy section. I thought this was going to be rlly popular but it only stayed there for a brief while. I got excited seeing how many chapters there were and thought why not, let's give it a try. I thought I would read the novel too, since I found a good site for translations. I put it off for a day or two after finishing GAP since I was still recovering, but then I started and it gave me such relief because of how cute it is. It seems I really like this because I created even a playlist for it lol, to which I added some songs such as Youth and Secret that were presented in the story. I actually love the slow burn though I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I realize I might not be saying that if there wasn't a completed novel of this. ButI like that the story is taking time to navigate the complexities of their feelings and what it could mean for them, and dealing with real world issues as well and not brushing them off or oversimplifying them due to this being a relatively wholesome manhua. I love the trope of an aloof yet doting gong x a cute and bright shou. I love seeing their journey together and am so excited to see their blooming romance, now that they're older and have matured more.
I love the monologues and various metaphors used in this, they make the story so insightful and every chapter has me thinking about things I hadn't thought of before. I feel that a lot of bls adapted from novels do this well, and so I usually prefer them quite a bit. The art was so beautiful too and I loved all the cute little chibi and animal illustrations, along with the recipes the artist added to the end of chapters sometimes. I like how food oriented the story is. Though I was a bit sad when the proper scanlation team's chapters ended and I had to move on to the other ones. Not only was the translation lackluster (typical mtl) but the image quality was also bad. Thankfully it was still understandable though. I read up to chapter 31 here, read 32-29 on mdex, and read the rest on manhuahot since the quality was a bit better.
Overall I really enjoyed this. I love Lele's cuteness and I love the intensity of Song Yu's feelings towards him. I'm excited to move on to the novel.
