Confused about why this is so popular. I couldn't make it past the fifth chapter. Cliched and boring. Tried again several months later and am convinced that other people are reading a totally different story than I am. ????? Am I really the only one?

Dropping this because I couldn't stand to see them suck up to her mother, who is abusive and horrible. Somebody who loves you doesn't slap you, dump a bucket of water on your boyfriend, and kick you out of the house, then gaslight you into thinking it was your fault for "running away." And then change her tune when she realizes how successful the guy is.
