To be fair that misunderstanding from the start was never clarified. It did seem sus hearing the neighbor get called master and he's been thinking that since the beginning.... also he's traumatized by having weirdo around him a nd stalking him. He is a bit delulu but! His line of thinking makes more sense if you remember how it started!
