I have too say that I love this current development. In a unintentional way the red hair guy put a strain in the main couple relation. To the noble man (I can't remember names TT) it would seem as if the painter didn't care for him and only want to escape! It's brilliant and allows for a deepper layer in red guy character too. ¡Claps to the author!

Every time I read this it reminds me of Ai no kusabi. At least frome the noble man (I suck at korean names). It's just so implanted in his brain his upbringing that he cannot concibe he have feelings for the boy. And since he is noble he does what he wants with the people that he considers inferior.
This is a recurrent topic in historical mangas and, every time I read about it, makes me question myself what kind of behaviors I have so integrated too xD

I was just browsing through the chapters to answer a comment, which, of course, became in me reading all the manga again. And I found this!

I think is He Tian first appearance if I'm not wrong!
God, in that time I didn't know I would come to love him XD Or even his name... ( ̄∇ ̄")

SPOILER
I think that what happened (after watching? seeing? the RAW for the chapter 36) is that the overzealous gang or whatever it is of the white hair guy (I just can't remember names in Korean) confuse the let's say evil brother with the other one and attacked him. But it was not really meant for him. That or the evil brother did something to white hair guy and he was looking for revenge, but it is not clear to me if he knew about the brother before or not.

I will say this since I finish reading the chapter 3. i don't want the two main characters to fall in love whit each other. It would be SO refreshing for that to NOT happen! Like, real male frienship.
The second thing is I love how Touru san portraits the young days so real. It goes slow but a the same time it has a feeling of meaningful and lazy time passing by.

So what's the point of making it a shonen ai if they're not going to love each other romantically?

Lots of people want them to remain as friends and may be they will however I want them to end up together . I don't know they fit perfect with each other. But I doubt that will happen though.Σ( ̄□ ̄||)

Toru san always have a way to ending things open but with insinuations. I would say that I would be happy ether way, it's only that it will be so new if they don't end together. I just finish what there is now. I just don't want and ending like Musubenai nektai. I love it and hate it at the same time.

At the end of volume one, Tohru said that the romance will be slow, and it would take 3 volumes. So my guess is that they definitely end up together, but we are barely at the beginning of the second volume, so a lot more has to happen before the romance can start.
I agree that this manga beautifully captures the friendship between Yuiji and Yamato, but I think the arc of this manga will be Yuiji discovering what it means to love someone on multiple conflicting levels. To love someone as a friend, to love someone as a girl/boyfriend. To realize the stakes involved in love.
In that way, there is no one more appropriate for him to fall in love with than Yamato.
I don't like to think as "the emperor change", because in reality he has not lived the other life or done the other stuff. He only access then through dreams but not clearly.
I get that is confusing in the eyes of Yen Ha. After all he does not understand that is his little moments of education as a child, moments that the emperor didn't have in his other life with no one, the ones that actually raise him to became more aware of others.
The pontificer? big challange in this new life is lookin at the emperor as he is now, and not the emperor in his past life. The challenge of the emperor is fighting againts the ghost of of someone he is not.
Until now I'm really enjoying that our prota is putting himself first, and suffering how his pre-life makes him colder. But the story is saying that they both manage to overcome this so... I'm in for the ride!
