This seems like so many different anime and manga. Check out: Frieren: Beyond Journey's End I haven't actually read or watched it fully but it seems similar to what you're asking for, though I dont think its what you want. I had my best friend commit suicide when I was probably 12-13 and I recently heard something that made me think: Can you tell? Do they know? Was I too young? Did I know? That stuff is all blurry now.

I know its touchy but for anyone who has stopped a friends suicide or maybe missed it but were old enough to have clarity of the situation: Did you know? Could you see it?
