He's an emotional leech: doesn't want to accept his own feelings so he hides behind the "friend" label as a pretext to keep asking preferential treatment from the mc, resulting in an "always takes, never gives" dynamic.

I'm team red-hair since he first appeared but I know the author will have MC and Han Jei get together in the end (probably twist red-hair's character(hopefully not) to justify MC×Jei) so I'm just gonna hate-read this to oblivion and express my dislike for Jei 'til it's over
